Western science just “discovered” your body clock. Chinese medicine mapped it 2,000 years ago.

In 2017, three researchers won a Nobel Prize in Medicine for explaining the molecular machinery of your circadian rhythm, the internal clock that runs your sleep, your hormones, your energy, your digestion. Groundbreaking work. But Chinese Medicine Practitioners have been charting this exact map for two millennia. We just called it the organ clock.

I’m the sock lady now and I’ve made peace with it. 🧦

Here’s what gets me: women are out here doing cold plunges, choking down 14 supplements, tracking their macros to the gram and standing barefoot on a freezing tile floor every single morning without a second thought.

That spot on the bottom of your foot, the Bubbling Spring, Kidney 1, is where your body guards its deepest energy reserves. In TCM, your Kidneys are the battery. “Just manage your stress.” If I had a dollar for every high-achieving woman handed that line while her body was clearly trying to tell her something, I could fund the research her doctor isn’t doing.

This is one of my favorite cases because the culprit was so “healthy.” She did everything right. That was the problem though, nobody questioned the habits that looked virtuous on paper.

Your labs being “normal” doesn’t mean nothing’s wrong. It means they ran a basic panel and it landed in a range built around the average sick person. That’s the bar we’re clearing? No.
