🎀 Mammograms: A Simple Screening That Can Make a Big Difference 🎀

You’ve probably heard that you should get a mammogram—but what exactly is it, and why is it so important?

A mammogram is an X-ray of the breast used to look for early signs of breast cancer, sometimes before a lump can be felt or other symptoms appear.

💕 Why are mammograms important?
Finding breast cancer early can mean more treatment options and a better chance of successful treatment. Regular screening is an important part of taking care of your health—even when you feel perfectly healthy!

At My Community Health Center, we want to make sure our patients havethe information and support they need to stay up to date on preventive care.

💉 FLU SHOT MYTH VS. FACT

❓ Can the flu shot give me the flu?

MYTH! The flu shot cannot give you the flu. The vaccine does not contain infectious flu virus capable of causing influenza.

You may experience a sore arm, tiredness, or mild aches afterward—these are signs your immune system is responding to the vaccine.

Early detection matters, and we want to make sure every eligible MCHC patient who is due for a mammogram has access to this important screening. 💗

👩 Women ages 40–74 should talk with their healthcare provider about breast cancer screening and whether it’s time for a mammogram.
