The Canton Board of Health will hold a high dose flu vaccine clinic 65+ on Wednesday, September 16th from 9:30am-11:30am

The Canton Board of Health annual Health fair will be held on Saturday, October 3rd, 2026 from 10am-1pm at the Canton High School cafeteria.

We will have local vendors, town departments, and a large flu clinic for ages 4+.

There will be activities for kids including face painting, teddy bear clinic, crafts, and more!

MDPH has identified a 4th and 5th WNV case on 8/31/26 from Middlesex and Suffolk counties.

Canton remains MODERATE risk.

The majority of mosquito-borne disease cases occur in August and September

Avoid Mosquito Bites
- Apply insect repellent when outdoors
- Be aware of peak mosquito hours (dawn to dusk)
- Wearing long sleeves, long pants, and socks when outdoors

Mosquito-proof your home
- Drain standing water - Mosquitoes lay their eggs in water!
- Install or repair screens on all windows and doors

Season's Second Case of West Nile Virus (WNV) in MA

On August 24, 2026, The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) announced the second human case of WNV this year in a man in his 60s who was exposed in Middlesex County.

Boston is now considered high risk. Canton remains MODERATE risk.

Avoid Mosquito Bites
- Apply insect repellent when outdoors
- Be aware of peak mosquito hours (dawn to dusk)
- Wearing long sleeves, long pants, and socks when outdoors

Recall

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) is advising consumers and retailers about a voluntary recall of select Outshine Fruit Bars because they may contain glass. The recalled products were distributed to retailers nationwide and may have been sold in Massachusetts.

West Nile Virus Update!
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) has raised Canton's West Nile Virus (WNV) risk level from low to MODERATE.

This change follows the confirmation of the state's first human WNV case this year.

By taking a few, common sense precautions, you can protect yourself and loved ones: apply insect repellent, wear long sleeves or pants, be aware of peak mosquito hours, drain standing water, and install or repair screens.

The Town of Canton continues to work closely with MDPH and the Norfolk County Mosquito Control District.

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) announced today, 8/19/26, that West Nile virus (WNV) has been detected in a mosquito sample collected from Canton, Massachusetts. The risk of WNV human infection in Canton REMAINS LOW. There have been no human WNV cases this year.

By taking a few, common sense precautions, you can protect yourself and loved ones: apply insect repellent, wear long sleeves or pants, be aware of peak mosquito hours, drain standing water, and install or repair screens.

The Town of Canton will continue to work closely with MDPH and the Norfolk County Mosquito Control District.
