What are your thoughts on anger?

A Yale study found that when women express anger at work, they’re seen as out of control.
When men express it, they’re seen as powerful.

Same emotion.
Opposite outcome.

And we wonder why women have been taught to swallow it.

Here’s what swallowing it actually costs:
Holding yourself back in a room, your voice & actions
Not trusting your raw emotions to be valid
Exploding when you can’t hold it in anymore

This is why I love helping women build a safe relationship with anger.

Because processed & expressed anger becomes:

Clarity.
Conviction.
The fuel for the change you actually want to see.

Women aren’t penalized for having emotions.
They’re penalized for having this one.

Because anger signals entitlement to status.
And that, apparently, is still threatening.

So no. I won’t guide women away from their rage.

I’ll teach them what to do with the fire instead.

Most of us are spending the majority of our lives entirely from the neck up.

Thinking, planning, analyzing, worrying, scrolling... all of it happening in the head while the body just carries us from place to place. We are moving so fast, working so hard to keep up with the pace of the world, that we are rushing right past the actual human experience.

And somewhere in the process, we’ve lost touch with something really fundamental. The actual felt experience of being alive.

In this episode we’re talking about your five senses, sight, sound, smell, touch, and taste and why coming back to them might be the most underrated pathway to presence, joy, and genuine pleasure that exists.

We also get into why slowing down has started to feel dangerous. Why silence makes so many of us uncomfortable. And how the ordinary moments of daily life are holding so much more joy than most of us are actually letting in.

Plus, 3 practical exercises to start bringing you back into your body and back into your life.

This one is a warmup. The conversation goes even deeper in a few weeks.

PS: this podcast was inspired from the retreat I was on where talked about this in our heart opening ceremony

This one is personal. I grew up in an era where women were in a constant, quiet war with getting older. Nobody questioned it.

Youth was beauty. Beauty was worth. And that was just the water we all swam in.

But here’s what I’ve come to understand: that same “not good enough” doesn’t just show up at the mirror.

It shows up in our weight, our work, our relationship status, our parental status.

It shows up everywhere we’ve quietly decided we’ll love ourselves more when.

In my early forties I tried Botox for the first time. And then a handful of times after that.

Each time convincing myself it was fine.
Each time something in me feeling slightly off.

But it wasn’t until I started asking the harder question that everything shifted.

I had spent years doing the deep work of loving every version of myself. Elementary school Jessica. Teenage Jessica. The Jessica of her twenties and thirties. I had loved them all.

And then I realized, the one version I was withholding that love from was the one I hadn’t met yet.

The one with lines on her face.
The one I was quietly bracing for.
The one I was spending money to delay.

Because unconditional self-love isn’t just about loving who you’ve already been and who you are today.

It’s also about loving who you’re still becoming.

Episode 4 of Live Lighter is about what it actually means to love yourself unconditionally & what it looks like when you find the place where you quietly aren’t.

It’s not about Botox.
It’s about the question underneath it.

We had a special guest, Shannon Hamaker, join us to talk about something that isn’t discussed nearly enough… sensuality and pleasure.

More specifically - the limiting beliefs so many women carry in this area.

Shannon has personally helped me release layers of guilt and shame that I didn’t even realize I was holding for years.

And what I’ve come to see is this:
For many women, this is an access point.

An access point into power.
Into deeper connection.
Into a more expansive kind of self-love.

I’m not an expert in this space, which is exactly why I brought Shannon in to speak to my group.

But I am a believer that this is a very key ingredient to women .

Shannon and I will be diving deeper into this conversation on an upcoming Live LIGHTER podcast episode, stay tuned for that.

I’ll also be joining Shannon for her women’s retreat, Restore for More, September 17–20 in Tennessee.

If this is an area you’ve been curious about exploring, I can’t recommend her work enough.

You can connect with Shannon here:

I’m doing something I’ve dreamed of doing for years...

I’M LAUNCHING A PODCAST!

It’s called Live Lighter.

Because for too long, women have been conditioned:
To hold everything together.
To carry the load.
To play small.
To endure.
To prove.
To fit in.
To be nice.

I’m done living like that.

And I’m done watching incredible women dim their light under the weight they put on themselves.

Life doesn’t have to be so heavy.

On Live Lighter - we’ll explore how to move through life with more freedom, more power, and far less weight holding us back.

I’ll be sharing the work I do with my clients:
drawing from somatic practices, nervous system work, & inner child healing to help women reconnect with their POWER and trust themselves again.

I’ll be bringing in powerful voices
to deepen the conversation from
leadership to parenting to relationships to living fully.

This podcast isn’t about striving for more.

It’s about liberation.

Because when women feel lighter, they rise.

And the world, now more than ever,
needs women to feel empowered to show up fully in every area of their lives.

🎙️ The trailer and Episode 1 are now live.

As we wrap up International Women’s Month, I want to say something that I don’t think gets talked about enough. I invest in women.

Not just with encouragement (which I do that daily).
But also with my time, my trust, and my money.

Because supporting ambitious, talented women isn’t something I just harp on for social vanity metrics.

It’s a business practice.

We talk about supporting women. But let’s put our money where our mouth is and invest in them too.

Because when women support women with real resources, not just applause...

We build businesses, communities, and lives that change the game.

Who would you add to this list?
Let’s support women in their businesses and raise each other up.
