As the summer sun rolls in, pick bright-colored swimsuits for your kiddos. Neon and bold colors stand out way better in the water, making them easier to spot from above and below the surface. **Remember — lake water isn’t the same as ocean water, and neither one behaves like pool water. Each has its own visibility and safety challenges!** Dark colors can disappear quickly — but bright ones pop!

Let’s keep our little swimmers safe and visible all summer long! 🌈👀

🌞 Heat is on the way, and temperatures over the next few days could bring increased heat-related health risks for many in our community. Please remember to stay hydrated, limit time outdoors during peak heat hours, and check on children, older adults, pets, and anyone who may be more sensitive to extreme temperatures.

🚗 A very important reminder: Never leave children or pets unattended in vehicles — even for a few minutes. Vehicle temperatures can rise quickly and become dangerous fast. Remember: Stop. Look. Lock.

They did it! 👏
Our 5th & 6th graders at the Boys & Girls Club of the Sandhills just completed their very first va**ng prevention course—and they’re the FIRST group at this level to do it!

They showed up, stayed engaged, and walked away with knowledge, confidence, and a commitment to being vape-free. That’s the kind of leadership that makes a difference.

We loved every minute of working with this group and can’t wait to see what they do next! Please enjoy some of their anti-va**ng ads they created that will be hung throughout the department next week 🎨

Spring Fling Sandhills Community College did not disappoint! ☀️ We had beautiful weather, met incredible students and staff, and spent the day doing what we love—empowering others to be their healthiest, best selves.
