Whether it’s your first time or you’re a regular, a little preparation goes a long way.

Here’s everything you need to know before, during, and after your appointment.

Days Before Your Appointment
- Pause blood thinners(always check with your provider first)
- Skip alcohol for 48–72 hours before your appointment to reduce bruising
- Drink plenty of water in the days leading up — hydrated tissue responds better and makes for a smoother treatment

Day of Your Appointment
- Come with a clean face — no makeup,
- Eat beforehand to keep your blood sugar stable
- Bring questions, reference photos & goals you’d like to talk through.
- Let your provider know about any allergies, medications, or past reactions

During Your Treatment
- Relax your muscles as much as possible — tension makes it less comfortable
- Look away if seeing the needle bothers you
- Exhale slowly as the needle goes in (it genuinely helps!)

A Note on Needle Anxiety
You’re not alone and we’ve got you. Let us know if you’re nervous and we’ll slow down, talk you through every step & use distraction techniques to help.

After Your Treatment
- Don’t touch, rub, or massage the treated area unless we’ve told you to
- Skip intense workouts for 24 hours
- Avoid extreme heat sources like saunas, hot yoga, direct sun, and steamy showers for 24–48 hours
- Hold off on alcohol for at least 24 hours post-treatment
- Avoid compressing the treated area
- Arnica gel or tablets can help with bruising
- If you experience swelling, apply a cloth-wrapped ice pack gently unless we’ve advised otherwise

What to Expect
- Some swelling and bruising are completely normal and typically clears within a few days to two weeks. You will be given lots of normal vs. abnormal education at your appointment.
- Filler results are often visible right away and continue to settle beautifully over 2–6 weeks
- Neurotoxin results take 14–21 days to fully show
- We recommend a follow-up at 2–4 weeks to review your results and make any refinements

YOU’RE PROBABLY GETTING SUNSCREEN ALL WRONG

There are two main types of sunscreen:

1- Mineral Sunscreen:
This sits on top of your skin and reflects UV rays. It’s a great option if your skin is sensitive or reactive, and it starts working immediately after application.

2- Chemical Sunscreen:
This absorbs UV rays and converts them into heat. It tends to feel lighter, layers well under makeup, and just needs about 15–20 minutes to fully activate.

Neither is “better.”
The best sunscreen is the one you’ll actually wear every day.

Now let’s clear up a common myth...

Higher SPF doesn’t mean dramatically more protection.

* SPF 30 blocks about 97% of UVB rays
* SPF 50 blocks about 98%

The difference is smaller than most people think.
What matters more? Making sure it’s broad spectrum (protects against both UVA + UVB rays)!

The part most people get wrong...

How you apply matters just as much as what you use.

* Use about a nickel to teaspoon-sized amount for your face and neck.
* Apply before sun exposure (not after you’re already outside).
* Reapply every 2 hours if you’re outdoors.
* And yes… wear it every single day—even indoors.

THE BOTTOM LINE?

Sunscreen only works if you use enough of it, consistently. That’s it. No hacks. No shortcuts.
