Last month, Dignity Health Sports Medicine hosted our 11th Annual Field to ER (F2ER) event, bringing together athletic trainers, athletic training students, physicians, EMS and community partners for hands-on emergency preparedness training.
From Emergency Action Plans and medical time outs to exertional heat stroke, rapid cooling, equipment removal and cervical spine management, participants practiced the skills that matter when every second counts.
F2ER gives members of the sports medicine and emergency response teams the opportunity to train together before having to respond together. This strengthens communication, helps us to understand each other’s roles and ultimately provide safer care for our student-athletes.
A huge thank you to Gilbert Fire and Rescue, the Gilbert Public Safety Training Facility, our presenters and community partners for helping make another year of F2ER possible!
