At our Quarterly All‑Staff meetings, we always begin by grounding ourselves in purpose. Recently, we had the privilege of hearing from Shannon Boule, whose son Spencer received a life‑saving heart transplant at Boston Children’s Hospital.
Shannon shared Spencer’s journey from learning of his rare condition, endocardial fibroelastosis, to watching it progress into restrictive cardiomyopathy. After eight long months in the hospital and time spent on the national transplant waiting list, Spencer received the gift that changed everything: a donor heart.
In the summer of 2025, Trinity Medical had the honor of delivering Spencer’s new heart to Boston Children’s. Moments like this remind us why our work matters. Organ donation and transplantation is complex, deeply human, and built on the dedication of so many, from OPO partners to transplant teams to the families who say “yes” in the hardest moment of their lives. Our mission is intertwined with theirs. Together, we help save lives.
Today, Spencer is 18 months old, thriving, walking, and home with his family. A second chance made possible by a generous donor.
