Forehead lines were her biggest concern… but her lids already felt heavy.

So the goal here was to really smooth the forehead without unnecessarily restricting her brows.

I paid close attention to how she was using her forehead and brows before treating, and used a combination of superficial + deeper Botox injection patterns based on her movement and anatomy.

2 weeks later 🤍
Her forehead lines are significantly softer, her frown is relaxed, and we were still able to preserve the brow movement that was important for her.

This is why I don’t treat every forehead with the same pattern. Sometimes the smallest changes in placement and depth can make a big difference in how Botox looks and feels.

If you’ve felt heavy after forehead Botox before — or you’re worried about it because your lids already feel heavy — definitely mention it during your assessment. :)

Patients come in all the time knowing something is bothering them, but not necessarily knowing what it is.

Sometimes it’s specific — redness, brown spots, texture, wrinkles or dryness. And sometimes it’s simply, “I look tired,” “I feel like I’m looking older,” or “something has changed and I can’t quite figure out what.”

That’s where all the treatment options can get confusing 😂

Here’s my quick way of breaking them down:

Hydration + glow → Skinvive
Firmness + skin quality → Sculptra / hyperdilute Radiesse
Redness + brown spots → BBL
Texture + fine lines + pores → Halo
Collagen + maintenance → Microneedling
No-needle biostimulation → BioStim
Wrinkles + muscle movement → Botox

Of course, it’s not always one treatment. What makes sense for you depends on your age, what I see in your skin, your main concerns, what you’ve already been doing and how much downtime you’re comfortable with.

And often, a combination of treatments is what gets us to a certain goal because we’re addressing different things at the same time.

So you don’t need to come in knowing whether you need BBL, Halo, Skinvive or anything else. Tell me what you’re noticing — or even just that something feels different — and we can figure out what’s actually going on and where to start.

I’d keep it really simple and conversational — like you’re explaining the result to someone sitting in your room:

Can we do lip filler… but make it look like I didn’t? 😂

Yes :) And for a lot of my patients, that’s exactly the goal.

For her, we wanted a little more shape, balance and hydration without changing what was already hers.

When I’m treating lips, I’m looking at your natural shape, proportions and movement — and then deciding where a little filler will actually make a difference and where we don’t need it.

Sometimes very little is all we need.

If you’ve been thinking about lip filler but are scared of the “filler look,” tell me that. We can absolutely make that part of the plan

Attended the Maeve Gala Yesterday 🥰

After days of planning, setting up, brainstorming , samples, signs, and every little detail… seeing everyone excited and interact with our little Oak Haus setup made it all so worth it ✨

One of the best parts of the night was meeting so many amazing people, local businesses, and creatives all in one space. Maeve Gala did such a beautiful job bringing everyone together and creating an evening that felt so warm, welcoming, and inspiring.

So grateful we got to share a little piece of Oak Haus 🤍

Can you tell what’s real and what’s not 😳😂

We took some photos a couple weeks ago for work, and then I asked ChatGPT to create a few extra poses using them 😅Now this post is a mix of the real photos and the AI-generated ones… and honestly it’s kind of crazy how real some of them look.

Comment if you can tell which ones are real 👀

Starting Botox in your 30s/40s vs starting in your 60s can look very different ✨

In your 30s and 40s, lines are usually more movement-based. So after the first Botox session, they often smooth pretty quickly because the skin has less “memory” of those repeated expressions.

At this stage, Botox is not just treating lines that are already there — it’s also helping prevent deeper lines from setting in over time.

In your 60s, the conversation becomes a little different.

If you’ve never done Botox before, many lines have been there for years, so they can become more “set” into the skin. Botox can still make a beautiful improvement, but it may take a few sessions to gradually soften everything.

Another important thing people don’t always realize:

As we age, many people unconsciously use their forehead muscles to help keep their eyes looking more open. So the forehead muscle becomes very important.

That’s why fully treating forehead lines in someone older can sometimes create brow heaviness or make the eyes feel smaller.

So treatment becomes less about “erasing every line” and more about balance:
• softer lines
• brighter, more open eyes
• natural movement
• still looking like yourself

This is why Botox is never one-size-fits-all — especially as we age 🤍

Botox in your 30s/40s can look very different from starting Botox for the first time in your 60s 🤍

And a lot of that comes down to anatomy, muscle movement, and how long the lines have been forming in the skin.

In your 30s–40s, the lines are often just starting to show even when the face is relaxed. They are usually not deeply set in yet, so relaxing the muscles can create smoother results and help slow deeper lines from forming over time.

Starting Botox in your 60s is usually a little more nuanced.

At that point, forehead lines have often been folding into the skin for many years, so Botox can still soften them beautifully — but may not completely erase every line. And in many patients, the forehead muscles are also helping keep the brows and eyes lifted and open.

That’s why balance becomes so important.

Especially with forehead Botox, trying to remove every line can sometimes create heaviness instead of a refreshed look.

The goal is usually:
• soften lines
• keep the eyes looking open
• maintain natural expression
• help the face look refreshed, not frozen

Every face, muscle pattern, and aging process is different, which is why Botox should never be approached the exact same way for every patient.

This was done over 2 sessions using a full facial approach — small, intentional changes that add up to a more refreshed, balanced look:

• Botox (upper face): softened lines without making her look frozen
• Botox (lower face): relaxed the pull down to help lift and clean up the jawline
• Cheeks: added support to improve under-eye shadows
• Chin + jawline: better structure and smoother prejowl area
• Biostimulator: focused on skin quality in the lower face
• Lips: very subtle — just enough to keep everything in balance

Nothing dramatic on its own… but together, it makes a big difference.

This is how I approach most faces — not chasing lines, but understanding where support is needed.

If you’re in Chapel Hill or Raleigh and want a plan that actually makes sense for your face, we’d love to see you 🤍

We’re now seeing patients in Raleigh ✨🤍

Honestly… I’m really excited about this.
So many of you have been driving to Chapel Hill for years, and asking for something closer.

So we finally did it 🤍

And thank you — for already keeping our Raleigh days so full.
It’s been so satisfying hearing how much more convenient this is for you. 🤗

This space is smaller for now, more personal, and focused on injectables —
Botox, filler, and facial balancing.

Our full Oak Haus experience is still in Chapel Hill,
but this makes it so much easier to stay consistent if you’re in Raleigh.

If you’ve been waiting for this… I got you ✨
