Certification is a voluntary process and is not required to practice as an doula. However, certification is valued by many families hiring doulas, and by h

ealthcare organizations making referrals to doulas. The Pink Grasshopper Full Spectrum Doula Training LLC certification process is based on granny midwives, personal experiences, and international research.

Father’s Day is almost here—and we’re not just celebrating dads, we’re building them up.

We are officially opening enrollment for our Father to Doulas Hybrid Training, and we’re calling in 5 men ready to step into something deeper**—presence, protection, knowledge, and hands-on support for families from pregnancy through postpartum.

This is more than a class. It’s a shift in how service - fatherhood shows up.

Inside this training, men will learn how to:

* Support partners through pregnancy, labor & postpartum
* Understand the emotional and physical needs of newborn care
* Build confidence in caregiving and decision-making
* Strengthen bonding through intentional presence
* Walk away with real tools, not just theory

Whether you're a new dad, seasoned father, or someone called to support families more strongly, this space was created for you.

We are looking for 5 committed men to join this first hybrid training.

If you’ve been feeling the pull to serve/do fatherhood differently… this is your sign.

Comment “FATHER” or message us directly to secure your spot.
Let’s raise a generation of present, prepared, powerful dads.

End Of Life / Death Doula - A Story About Legacy, Love & Planning

After my daughter SaMya (Mia) passed away at just 11 years old, I learned firsthand that grief changes everything.

It changes how families communicate. It changes priorities. It changes what “security” means.
Loss has a way of exposing every unspoken fear.
You start realizing how important it is to organize life while people are still able to make decisions.
You understand how quickly a crisis can arrive.
And while Mia’s story is different from elder care, her life taught me something powerful:

Love is not only emotional. Love is also preparation.

Preparation says:
“I do not want my family scrambling.”
“I do not want chaos after I’m gone.”
“I want peace left behind, not confusion.”
That lesson shows up repeatedly in end-of-life work.

The Pink Grasshopper Full Spectrum Doula and Training Services participates in many Maternal Justice initiatives. This has to be one of our favorites so far. As we roll out our Man Doula program we were invited to CarRings maternal Health conference in Charlotte. Our break out session was incredible !

We also showcased our newest project, which is encouraging fathers & soon to be dads to be trained with essential doula skills. And they got to meet Charlotte's very first man doula! Will Bradfield

Honoring Black History Month

Why Black Maternal and Family Health Matters Across Every Stage of Life
By The Pink Grasshopper Full Spectrum Doula & Training Services

Black History Month isn’t just about celebrating the past — it’s about changing the future for Black families today.

Across the U.S., Black people experience disproportionate health challenges from fertility and pregnancy to postpartum and end-of-life care. These disparities are rooted in systemic inequities — and they’re preventable. Let’s meditate on that together.

Last week, I had the honor of attending a powerful panel discussion sponsored in part by One More One Less Mentoring, Inc. hosted by Dear Fathers—and I left reminded of something essential:

Healthy families don’t happen by accident.
They happen through intentional conversations.

As a full-spectrum doula & trainer, my work centers birth, life transitions, and end-of-life care—but fatherhood, masculinity, accountability, and emotional presence are deeply connected to every stage of the family ecosystem. What stood out most during the panel wasn’t just what was said, but how it was said: honesty without hostility, accountability without shame, and love without enabling.

We discussed:
• What fathers need and what families need from fathers
• How mentorship interrupts generational cycles
• Why emotional literacy is a life skill, not a weakness
• How community—not perfection—builds strong men and safe homes

This conversation matters because silence doesn’t protect families—clarity does.

I’m grateful to spaces like Dear Fathers and OMOL that are brave enough to hold nuanced, respectful dialogue about responsibility, healing, and growth. These are the conversations that shape better outcomes for children, partners, and communities.

I’d love to hear from you:
What conversations do you think families and communities are avoiding—but need to have?

Let’s talk with intention.
Let’s listen with maturity.
Let’s build with purpose.

We are witnessing a quiet revolution.
Fathers are no longer “helping” — they are showing up, learning, advocating, and nurturing during pregnancy and postpartum.

This is what family restoration looks like.
This is what shared care looks like.

When dads are supported, moms are protected—and babies thrive. Here's what our daddy doula bags have in them, along with our training- Dad will be ready for the birth. - Kelle
