✨ Happy 7/7 Portal. ✨
This morning I felt called to take myself down to the Delaware River.
I wasn't looking for answers.
I just wanted to listen to the waves, breathe, and be present.
As I sat there, a tiny little boy in the cutest rain boots was absolutely living his best life. He was throwing giant rocks into the water, making the biggest splashes he could, and laughing with his whole heart.
I smiled and waved to him, and he got so excited...
The very next second...
**SPLASH!** 😂
His little butt, shorts, and diaper were completely soaked.
His mom laughed and said, "Ooh... be careful!"
Then she smiled at me and said, "I always keep a change of clothes with me for when he gets messy."
Without even thinking, I replied, "Yeah... we all get a little messy sometimes. Wouldn't it be nice if this was the kind of messy we got into?"
She laughed and said, "Yeah... my messy is way different."
I smiled and said, "I hear you. Mine too."
For just a moment, two complete strangers shared a truth that needed no explanation.
Because isn't that life?
As adults, our messes aren't muddy diapers and wet shorts anymore.
They're grief.
Heartbreak.
Stress.
Anxiety.
Family.
Finances.
Health.
The things we carry that no one else can see.
Watching that little boy, I couldn't help but think...
He didn't care that he got soaked.
He was too busy experiencing the joy of making the biggest splash he could.
Somewhere between childhood and adulthood, so many of us stop splashing because we're afraid of making a mess.
Then, because God has such a beautiful sense of humor...
A whole line of ducks waddled by. 🦆🦆🦆
I literally laughed out loud.🤣😂🤣
And thought- Well... I guess it's time to get my ducks in a row. I gotta go
But maybe...
Maybe getting our ducks in a row isn't about having everything perfectly organized.
Maybe it's about getting ourselves back in alignment.
Our heart.
Our mind.
Our body.
Our spirit.
Because when those are in a row, life has a funny way of taking care of the rest.
Today's healing didn't come from a meditation.
It didn't come from a book.
It didn't come from a profound spiritual download.
It came from waves...
A little boy in rain boots...
A conversation with a stranger...
And a family of ducks that apparently understood today's assignment.
Life really is that beautiful if we slow down long enough to notice it. ❤️
What simple moment has made you smile lately?
Or better yet can you promise to seek out a simple moment to enjoy over the next 24 hours?
Bonus Love if you bring your butt right back here and tell us all about it 😘🌻
