Pickering Equine Pickering Equine is a large animal equine rehabilitation facility. Our services including dry treadmill, aqua treadmill, lasering & veterinary services.

Pickering Equine is a large animal equine rehabilitation facility owned and operated by Hope Batchelor, DVM, an FEI-certified veterinarian as well as an avid show rider. Pickering Equine, based in Chester Springs, PA offers an array of rehabilitation capabilities, including an aqua trainer, horse gym 2000 dry treadmill, shockwave therapy and a class 4 regenerative laser. Each horse at Pickering Equine receives their own customized plan, as formulated by Dr.Batchelor and/or the referring veterinarian. Referring veterinarians are welcomed and encouraged to monitor horses' progress throughout the rehabilitation process with the staff. Pickering equine is the ideal rehabilitation destination for the east coast's top performance horses.

🌿 WE’RE GROWING — AND WE’RE LOOKING FOR THE RIGHT PERSON TO GROW WITH US! 🐴

Exciting things are happening at Pickering Equine! As our practice and rehabilitation program continue to grow, we’re looking to add a Rehabilitation Technician to our team at our state-of-the-art equine rehabilitation facility in Chester Springs, PA.

If you love working with horses, enjoy being part of a hands-on team, and are interested in learning more about equine rehabilitation and sports medicine, this could be a great opportunity for you.

🐴 Horse handling experience is required.
✨ Prior veterinary or rehabilitation experience is not required — we’re willing to teach the right person.

Come be part of a growing practice where every step matters and help us support horses through their rehabilitation, recovery, and return to performance.

🍂🐴 Cooler weather is here… which means BLANKET SEASON has officially arrived!

The mornings are crisp, the nights are getting colder, and horse owners everywhere are asking the annual question:

“Does my horse need a blanket tonight?” 😂

Before the temperatures really start to drop, it’s time for the fall blanket check!

🧺 Pull them out of storage
🧼 Make sure they’re clean and ready to go
🔎 Check for rips, broken straps & missing hardware
📏 Double-check the fit—bodies can change over the summer!
🏷️ Label blankets if you’re at a busy barn
🌧️ Make sure those waterproof turnouts are still actually… waterproof!

And, of course, prepare yourself for the horse who somehow destroys a perfectly good blanket in one night. 🤦‍♀️🐴

Some of the best days are the ones spent together outside of work.
This summer, members of the Pickering Equine team traded in the everyday routine for the reins and enjoyed an afternoon carriage driving together.
Horses are at the heart of what we do every day, but it’s always special to slow down, enjoy their company in a different way, and spend time together as a team.
Good horses, good company, and a beautiful summer day — a memory worth looking back on. 🤎

We had such a wonderful time at the Devon Fall Classic! 🐴
There’s something special about spending these early fall days at Devon—beautiful horses, great competition, familiar faces, and a community we’re always grateful to be a part of.
Thank you to our clients, friends, trainers, riders, and everyone who stopped by to say hello. We loved being there to support the horses and their teams throughout the show.

🍂 There’s something about Devon in the fall.
The familiar blue of the Dixon Oval and that unmistakable feeling that another beautiful fall show season has begun.
Pickering Equine is looking forward to the Devon Fall Classic and to spending the week alongside so many of the horses, riders, trainers, and friends who make this sport so special.
Dr. Hope Batchelor will be available throughout the show for sports medicine and veterinary support, with individualized approach we bring to every horse in our care.

🐴As the sun sets on the last days of summer, there’s a familiar change in the air.
Cooler mornings and the anticipation of a new season ahead.

Fall brings with it some of our favorite traditions—indoor horse shows, early mornings in the hunt field, carriage driving through the changing countryside, and countless hours spent doing what we love with our horses.

At Pickering Equine, we’re looking forward to all that this season holds and to being alongside our clients and their horses through every mile, every round, and every adventure.

🇺🇸 Happy Labor Day from Pickering Equine LLC! 🐴

Today, we celebrate the hard work, dedication, and passion that keep our equestrian community moving forward every day.

From veterinarians and technicians to trainers, grooms, riders, farriers, farm owners, barn staff, and everyone working behind the scenes — thank you for the early mornings, late nights, long days, and countless hours devoted to the care of our horses.

And on Labor Day, we can’t forget some of the hardest workers of all — our horses. 🤎

Whether they are competing, training, teaching, rehabilitating, or simply being the partners we love, their heart, effort, and willingness inspire us every day.

Today, we celebrate everyone who puts in the work — on two legs and four. 🐴❤️🇺🇸

A friendly request to the emoji designers of the world… equine veterinarians need more options! 😂

When your day can include everything from sports medicine and acupuncture to lameness evaluations, emergency calls, rehab, and keeping equine athletes feeling their best, 🐴 + 🩺 just doesn’t quite cover it!
