via • Mental Health America Content warning: This post discusses su***de.

September is .

Since June of 2020, Mental Health America’s Online Screening Program has seen a steady increase in the rate of frequent suicidal ideation in our screeners. Last year, over half of all youth depression screeners under 18 reported frequent suicidal ideation, compared to 48% of youth in 2024. This is the highest rate of youth suicidal ideation reported since MHA began measurement in 2014.

To anyone struggling, please remember: you deserve to live a life full of joy, peace, love, and adventure. This life is worth living.

If you’re struggling with your mental health and you’re not sure where to start, taking a mental health test is a gentle first step. Mental Health America’s free and anonymous online tests can help you understand what you’re experiencing and what steps you can take before you reach a point of crisis. Take a test today at the link in our bio.

If you or someone you know is in crisis, please know that help is available. Call or text 988 or chat online at 988lifeline.org. You can also reach a trained counselor at Crisis Text Line by texting HOME to 741741.

Thank you for staying. 🧡

via • Skyway Behavioral Health Last week, we kicked off our monthly Skyway Social series in our Downers Grove Space! Our first Skyway Social was held in collaboration with Mind Body Connections, bringing together practitioners for learning, connection, and hands-on experience.

We featured our very own Somatic Therapy Manager, Jenna Csont, who walked us through myofascial release techniques, and Stacey Hurst, owner of Mind Body Connections, who offered a brief history and live demonstration of dance/movement therapy.

We can’t wait for our next Skyway Social in June, this time in collaboration with Calm Mind Counseling. Stay tuned for more details!

Happy Pride from all of us at MBC! 🌈

June is LGBTQIA+ Pride Month, a time to celebrate the history, achievements, and resilience of the community while advocating for equality and recognizing the ongoing fight for rights. It commemorates the 1969 Stonewall Uprising and serves as a, “declaration and a demand” for visibility, safety, and inclusion, rather than just a celebration.

We aim to embody this resistance, acknowledgement, & acceptance all year round with our clients, staff, & community!

Great to work with the folks at Skyway!! Thanks for the invitation.
