✨ Hands-On Learning for Our APRN Fellows!✨

Today, our APRN Fellows had the opportunity to participate in LARC (Long-Acting Reversible Contraception) Training 🩺💙

We were excited to welcome representatives from Paragard and Liletta, who provided valuable training and hands-on education to help our fellows expand their knowledge and skills in contraceptive care.

A huge thank you to our Paragard and Liletta representatives for returning for another year and continuing to support our AdvancingPractice Fellowship Program! Your partnership and commitment to educating the next generation of providers mean so much to us. 🙌🏽

And we’re not done yet! 👀 In just a couple of weeks, our fellows will take part in Nexplanon Training - another exciting opportunity to build their clinical skills and confidence as they continue their fellowship journey. 💪🏽✨

This week, we celebrate and honor midwives and the incredible impact they have on patients, families, and communities. 💜

🎓 Cohort 7 is officially in their 3rd—and final—week of orientation!🩺✨

Our AdvancingPractice APRN Fellows have been busy preparing for the transition into their clinical roles. This week, they’ve had the opportunity to shadow their Erie preceptors and learn more about the teams and resources that support our patients. Later this week, they’ll also be shadowing Erie support staff to gain a deeper understanding of the many roles that contribute to comprehensive patient care. 🤝💙

As part of their final week of orientation, our fellows returned to UIC College of Nursing for their second SIMS lab experience! 🏥

During SIMS, fellows worked through a variety of clinical cases and discussions, including:
🫁 Pediatric asthma attacks
💬 Sexual history discussion
👁️ Ophtho case presentations
🗣️ SNAPPS—strengthening clinical reasoning and case presentation skills

These hands-on experiences are helping our fellows build clinical confidence, sharpen critical thinking, and strengthen collaboration as they prepare to care for their own patients.

And the big milestone is almost here! 🎉 Starting Monday, October 5, 2026, our Cohort 7 fellows will begin seeing their own patients at their designated Erie home sites.🩺❤️🌟

We are proud to recognize Natalie Raghu, DNP, APRN-FPA, ADM-BC, Medical Director of Advanced Practice Providers and APRN Fellowship, and Kiersten Solis, FNP-C, APRN, Program Director of the AdvancingPractice APRN Fellowship Program at Erie Family Health Centers, for representing Erie at the Illinois Primary Health Care Association (IPHCA) 2026 Annual Leadership Conference in Peoria, Illinois! 👏

On September 23, 2026, Natalie and Kiersten presented:

📚 "Advancing Practice in the Real World: Curriculum Building and Development”

Their session explored the realities of developing and strengthening postgraduate APRN training programs, with a focus on intentional curriculum design, strong clinical partnerships, dedicated preceptors, and adaptive learning.

We are grateful for the opportunity to share lessons from the AdvancingPractice APRN Fellowship Program and contribute to conversations about preparing and supporting the next generation of advanced practice providers. 🩺💙

✨ Cohort 7 is officially in Week 2 of Orientation!✨

Our newest AdvancingPractice Fellows are diving deeper into their journey with a week filled with hands-on learning, clinical experiences, and collaboration. 🩺💙

This week, our fellows are shadowing their preceptors and getting an inside look at what it means to provide exceptional care within their clinical settings.

They also had the incredible opportunity to visit the UIC College of Nursing SIM Lab, where they worked with high-fidelity mannequins.

🩺 Why Simulation Matters:
These hands-on experiences help our fellows build clinical confidence, sharpen critical-thinking skills, strengthen clinical decision-making, and foster collaboration —all essential skills for becoming well-rounded APRN providers.

And we’re not done yet! 👀 Our fellows will return for a second simulation experience during Week 3 of orientation, giving them another opportunity to put their knowledge and skills into action.

We’re excited to watch Cohort 7 learn, grow, and step into their future as APRN providers!🌟

🎓✨ **Congratulations, AdvancingPractice Fellowship Cohort 6!** ✨🎓

On September 4, 2026, we celebrated an incredible milestone as our **AdvancingPractice Fellows – Cohort 6** officially completed their fellowship! 💙

Over the course of their fellowship, these amazing APRNs have grown as clinicians, leaders, educators, and advocates for their patients and communities. We are so proud of all they have accomplished and the dedication they have shown throughout this journey.

As they begin this next chapter, we wish each of our fellows **continued success and all the best in their future endeavors!** 🌟

And we’re especially excited to share that **some of our Cohort 6 fellows will be continuing their journey with Erie — now as Erie providers!** 🩺💙 We couldn’t be more excited to have them continue serving our patients and communities.
