Your body knows when it's carrying too much.

That tightness in your chest, the exhaustion that sleep doesn't fix, the way small things feel overwhelming- these aren't signs you're failing. They're your nervous system signaling it needs support.

Real stress relief comes from teaching your nervous system it's safe to let go of the hypervigilance, the constant preparation for the next hard thing. Sometimes that happens through talk therapy. Sometimes through somatic work or Reiki, letting your body release what words can't reach.

You deserve more than pushing through. You deserve actual rest that reaches your bones. 🌊

Virtual and in-person sessions available on Chincoteague Island, including trauma-informed therapy and Reiki.

The Salty Sisters in our element. Just like the plants we’re tending to here, our collective thrives through connection. While we each bring a different modality to the table, we share one common root: supporting your nervous system.

Whether it’s Tiffany’s somatic facials, Brooke’s herbal massage therapy, or Shaleen’s reiki and counseling, we’re here to help you move out of "fight or flight" and into a true parasympathetic state. We believe healing isn’t a solitary act, but something that happens when we’re rooted in community and nature.

What is one way you’ve felt supported by your community lately?

Near-infrared light therapy supports your body's natural healing processes at the cellular level. This is why consistent sessions can help with muscle recovery, inflammation reduction, and overall wellness.

Coming to see us isn’t just an appointment. It is a return to yourself. Like the deep roots of our local island trees, we want you to feel grounded and held. Welcome to your home away from home, where somatic healing meets the salt air. Your nervous system knows the way back to balance, and we are just here to hold the door open.

How does your body tell you it is ready to come home to itself?

We often carry the weight of our world in our shoulders and spine, keeping our bodies in a constant state of high alert. Stepping into the anti gravity chair is an invitation to let that weight go. This position helps decompress the spine and signals to the vagus nerve that it is safe to rest. It’s the somatic equivalent of watching the sun set over the Chincoteague Bay. Everything slows down. Your breath deepens. You return to center.

How does your body tell you it’s time to slow down?

Elderberry, like the wise elder woman of the village, has so much to offer those who listen. 🌿

Nature provides exactly what we need when we need it. While many see a simple shrub, the herbalist sees a powerhouse of protection and healing.

Here is how she supports us:
🌿 The berries are potent allies for boosting immunity and fighting off bacterial or viral infections.
🌿 They offer gentle relief for those struggling with seasonal allergy symptoms.
🌿 The leaves can be used topically for "crap that's gonna leave a mark," helping to soothe and heal bruising.

(A gentle reminder: because she is so effective at stimulating the immune system, please use caution if you have an autoimmune condition.)

What wild wisdom is showing up in your backyard or local trails right now?

Did you know you can eat the leaves of your horseradish plant?

Nature often hides its gifts in plain sight. While the root gets all the attention for its pungent heat, these vibrant leaves are a medicine cabinet of their own.

🌿 Tender spring leaves can be chopped into salads for a mild peppery bite.
🌀 Older leaves are wonderful as a potherb, lightly steamed or sautéed to mellow the flavor.
🌿 They act as a warming digestive stimulant, helping your system move with ease.

Taking a moment to harvest from what we already have is such a grounding practice. It reminds us that we are always supported if we look closely enough.

Have you ever tried the "other" parts of your garden plants?
