Alycia and I stepped outside our comfort zone and did something exciting 🎙️
Our business was recently featured on a Redirect podcast, and we had an amazing time sharing our story, passion, and what we do. Opportunities like this remind us how important it is to keep growing, learning, and showing up even when it feels a little outside the norm.

Adults with disabilities deserve to be included in every mental health conversation. 💚
Too often, their struggles are overlooked, dismissed, or misunderstood — even though many navigate isolation, anxiety, medical trauma, accessibility barriers, discrimination, and a world that is not always built with them in mind.
Mental Health Awareness Month is a reminder that mental health care, support, community, and compassion should be accessible to everyone.
Every person deserves to be heard.
Every person deserves dignity.
Every person deserves support that honors both their disability and their mental health.
Let’s continue creating spaces where adults with disabilities are valued, included, supported, and empowered — not just this month, but always.

It’s Fact Friday! Today, we are talking about Judith (Judy) Heumann, often known as the mother of disability rights.

At the age of 5, Judy was denied the right to attend school because her wheelchair was a “fire hazard”. Years later, after successfully passing both her oral and written teaching exams, she was denied her teaching license because she could not walk. Instead of accepting discrimination, Judy fought back. She sued the school board, won her case, and became the first teacher in New York to use a wheelchair.

Throughout her life, Judy became a powerful advocate for disability rights and accessibility. Her courage, leadership, and determination created lasting change for people with disabilities.

Caring for someone with a disability is filled with love, advocacy, appointments, paperwork, therapies, sleepless nights, and carrying things most people never see.
This Mental Health Awareness Month, let’s also talk about the mental health of caregivers.
The burnout.
The isolation.
The guilt for needing a break.
The pressure to always “hold it together.”
Caregivers deserve support too.
They deserve rest, community, therapy, joy, and space to be human outside of caregiving.
Checking on caregivers matters. Supporting them matters. Seeing them matters. 💚

Behind so many strong caregivers is a person quietly carrying anxiety, stress, grief, fear, exhaustion, and love all at once.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, I hope caregivers know:
🤍 It’s okay to ask for help
🤍 It’s okay to take breaks
🤍 It’s okay to protect your peace
🤍 It’s okay to talk about how hard this can be

Supporting people with disabilities also means supporting the people caring for them every single day.

To every caregiver doing their best: you are seen, appreciated, and never alone. 💚
