Why was the boil water notice issued?
Following a water shutoff needed to repair a leak, water pressure in the system dropped below the 20 PSI minimum pressure threshold established for public water systems.
When pressure drops below that level, there is a possibility that contaminants could enter the water system. Because of that, the City of Texico was required to issue a precautionary boil water notice and conduct water-quality testing before the water could be deemed safe.
The boil water notice was precautionary and related to the drop in water pressure following the repair. It remained in place until the required testing was completed.
✅ Testing has been completed, the water has been deemed safe, and the boil water notice is no longer active.

BOIL WATER NOTICE – CITY OF TEXICO ⚠️
The City of Texico has issued a Boil Water Notice for all residents and water customers until further notice due to water pressure dropping below 20 PSI.
Residents should bring water to a rolling boil for at least 1 minute before using it for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, making ice, or washing fruits and vegetables.
