It’s time for a proper shoutout to Christy!

Christy came to us with a pharmacy background from Australia, and we are VERY lucky to have her putting that experience, incredible attention to detail, and natural ability to track down an answer to work at RSP.

She’s become an especially important part of our Long-Term Care team — asking the right questions, communicating incredibly well, and somehow keeping everything straight in her own particular brand of organized chaos. Mandi has learned to let it be. Micah still tries to tidy it up. 😂

The team describes her as dependable, perpetually happy, and one of the warmest people you’ll ever talk to on the phone. And judging by how much our patients enjoy that accent, we think you agree. 💙

🐾 Her obsession with her cats and dogs is VERY real

She jumped into a complicated role, made it her own, and very quickly became one of those people we can count on, while making RSP a little more fun in the process.

Last week was one we'll never forget.

Micah had the opportunity to testify before the U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee about the TRICARE pharmacy program and the impact it is having on military families and the community pharmacies that serve them.

What most people didn't see was everything leading up to the hearing. Over several days, Micah finalized his 14-page written testimony with helpful feedback from fellow independent pharmacy advocates from organizations including American Pharmacies, Pharmacists United for Truth & Transparency (PUTT), and the National Community Pharmacists Association. The night before the hearing, our hotel room became one final rehearsal as he practiced and made a few last-minute refinements to his oral testimony.

The next morning, we headed to the Russell Senate Office Building, where Chairman Tommy Tuberville and Ranking Member Elizabeth Warren convened the hearing. Micah testified alongside other witnesses, including Express Scripts CEO Adam Kautzner.

What made us the proudest was how straightforward Micah's testimony was. He didn't have to be dramatic. It was built on the stories of real patients whose care has been disrupted and the contract terms that have made it increasingly difficult for independent pharmacies to continue serving TRICARE beneficiaries. The facts and the experiences of the families affected by them, spoke for themselves.

We're thankful for everyone who took the time to read, listen, and offer thoughtful feedback before the hearing. Advocacy is always stronger when people are willing to share their experience and perspective.

Micah has always believed that caring for patients doesn't stop at the pharmacy counter. Sometimes it means showing up in Washington, D.C., and speaking on behalf of the military families who deserve access to the local pharmacies they know and trust. We're proud of him for doing just that.

After many successful years in business, Graham has decided it's time to retire. 🍬

About seven years ago, he launched his own bubble gum company right here at Roden-Smith Pharmacy. Over the years, he learned about inventory, counting money, cleaning the machine, and all the responsibilities that come with running a small business.

Now, he's officially sold the company—including the bubble gum machine and remaining inventory—to Mandi's boys, who are excited to take over operations and continue providing a remedy for your sweet tooth.

We love seeing the next generation learn about hard work, responsibility, and entrepreneurship. Be sure to grab a piece of gum and help support the Eifert boys in their newest venture! 👏
