"Amanda was amazing! She’s kind, supportive and truly listens!

Once you meet her and book you get multiple meetings before birth. Each meeting she brings you more information and is always available to talk and offer more support. She answered all of my questions and checked in on me periodically.

Once labor started she was in contact the entire time! We were able to go to the hospital and meet her there. She brought my birth plan for me. She was extremely helpful during birth. She helped me do stretches and massage to help me relax. She showed my husband what she was doing so he could be involved as well. This was my third baby and my first time going completely unmediated and she really helped me to get into the right mindset before and during birth.

Postpartum she also does a visit and check ins. She has tons of resources for pelvic floor therapy and lactation to help you as well.

Overall she’s been supportive and knowledgeable. She’s great about keeping communication throughout and making sure you have as many resources and as much support as possible. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a doula!"

"Amanda was amazing and I couldn’t have done it without her! She stayed with my husband and I and supported me the entire night! I don’t even know if she took a break, she’s a warrior. She was also so responsive every time we had a question throughout labor, always texting us back quickly and calling with suggestions and things to try, and even getting back us immediately when we were full of newborn questions long after birth. She was such a kind soul and resource, and we were so happy she was a big part of our experience. We would most definitely hire her again as our doula!! 💗"

One of the biggest things I’d like to see changed in birth. I’ve seen a doctor be patient and wait longer than 5 minutes only a few times.

They’re pulling it out pretty quickly. Usually within 3-5 minutes, I’d say. But hey, we’ve got pitocin on board to prevent hemorrhage, so 👍🏼🤦🏻‍♀️

I witnessed a hemorrhage once and my first thought was the rushed birth if the placenta. I think the doctor did too. I’ll never forget when our eyes met while we waited for blood to be administered to mom. I think she knew she caused it.

This mom had a history of fast labors so we knew to watch closely when things picked up. Well, we still were very surprised when it went from, “I think my water may have broke”, no contractions yet, to a baby in 1.5 hours!! Insane!
Baby was born in the water at home (as planned) before I or the midwives had a chance to get there! Everyone was perfect and healthy! I offered to do some photos for this family since it all happened so fast and I didn’t make it.
I’ll try to remember to post some of those photos soon.
