Social and emotional support are essential in the face of a cancer diagnosis. The mission of Cancer Support Community is to provide this support to anyone affected by cancer: patients, caregivers, friends, family and survivors. Community is perhaps the most important aspect of the Cancer Support Community's model of care that differentiates the program from any other. Today, thousands of people wi
th cancer and their loved ones unite together through our programs. People come at diagnosis, during or at the end of treatment, at recurrence or several years out of treatment. They all come to learn they are not alone in their fight--whether for physical, emotional or spiritual recovery. Together, they regain a sense of control over their lives and ultimately discover that hope is a valuable tool irrespective of the stage of disease. Our programs and services are always provided at no cost, to ensure that we do not increase the financial burden of those already coping with life-threatening issues. Our comfortable setting helps people find a sense of community among others with whom they can share, learn and improve their quality of life.
