FOTA representatives Betty Ann Straub-Ruotolo , Scott Shamis, and Melissa Wetzel were honored to attend this year’s South Florida Donor Network Remembrance Ceremony at the Diplomat Hotel last weekend, with our special guest Brenda Merrill of Leading Ladies, Inc.

It was a deeply moving and heartfelt tribute to the individuals who gave the ultimate gift of life through organ and tissue donation over the past year. Donors were memorialized from the stage, and their families received donor medals in recognition of their incredible generosity and lasting legacy.

To the donor families who continue to carry their loved ones’ stories forward: thank you. Your courage and generosity have given hope, healing, and second chances to so many.

We are grateful to stand alongside the community in remembering these extraordinary donors and honoring the lives they touched. 💙

A huge thank-you to the Miami Marlins for gifting FOTA 30 tickets so we could share an afternoon of baseball with some of the incredible volunteers, friends, and medical staff who support our mission and the community.

It was our small way of saying thank you for everything you do...and we had a lot of fun doing it! From cheering in the stands to catching up and simply enjoying time together, it was a wonderful reminder that the heart of FOTA is the incredible people who show up, support one another, and make our mission possible. ❤️

Thank you, Miami Marlins, for helping us make this possible! And thank you to everyone who joined us. We’re already looking forward to the next one! ⚾️
