Today marks the 36th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a historic law that continues to protect the rights of people with disabilities and promote greater access and inclusion.

The ADA has helped make communities, workplaces, transportation, and public spaces more accessible, while supporting the right to make meaningful choices about everyday life.

At SequoiaSD, we're proud to support California's Self-Determination Program and the individuals and families who choose a life centered on self-determination.

Changes in routines can affect services, appointments, and community plans. Prepare by documenting essential tasks, trusted contacts, and preferred options for schedule changes.

A current backup plan keeps responsibilities clear and decisions centered on the Participant. Review it whenever services, schedules, or priorities change.

The California Self-Determination Program is built on the belief that people should have choice and control over the services and supports they receive. Every person deserves the opportunity to define success on their own terms and live a life that reflects their goals.

Our offices will be closed on June 19 in observance of Juneteenth and will reopen on June 20.
