At Concho Hearts Hospice, we believe kindness, teamwork, and compassion deserve to be celebrated—and today we're honored to recognize Leann (Lea) in Admissions at Med City Decatur! 💙

Today we had the honor of recognizing an extraordinary healthcare hero with the Concho Hearts Hospice Community Partner Award. ❤️

Our staff and a patient's family both wanted to recognize Debra Martin at Pecan Tree for the incredible compassion she shows every single day.

A family member shared a story that truly touched our hearts. In the middle of the night, their loved one woke from a frightening nightmare, confused and convinced they had been abandoned. After speaking with their loved one on the phone, the family member didn't realize the call was still connected. For the next 10–15 minutes, they listened as Debra gently comforted, reassured, and engaged their loved one with meaningful conversation, helping calm their fears.

Knowing she needed to feel safe, Debra went the extra mile—literally. She moved the patient's recliner from the end of the hallway to the nurses' station so she could remain close by, keeping her comfortable, secure, and never alone.

These are the moments that often go unseen. The moments that don't make it into a chart, but make all the difference in a family's heart.

Debra, thank you for reminding us that nursing is so much more than a profession—it's a calling. Your kindness, patience, and genuine compassion embody everything exceptional care should be.

Kani had the honor of presenting Vicky at Heritage Place in Decatur with our Concho Community Hearts Award! ❤️

Vicky was nominated by our staff because she consistently goes above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome and included. Recently, when a new resident arrived at the facility, Vicky took the time to welcome him, help him get settled, and make sure he felt like he belonged from day one.
