Lee, MD, FASMBS specializes in advanced laparoscopy and other minimally invasive surgical techniques, including all forms of weight-loss/bariatric surgery and revisional surgery. A native Texan and Longhorn, Dr. Lee attended the University of Texas at Austin for his undergraduate studies. He then earned his medical degree at the Universit

y of Texas Medical School at Houston and completed his residency in general surgery at UT Southwestern before becoming Fellowship trained in minimally invasive metabolic and bariatric surgery at the renown Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He has the highest qualifications necessary to perform complex minimally invasive bariatric surgery and is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (F.A.C.S.). Dr. Lee has been the 2012-2015 Director of Bariatric Surgery and also Director of the Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship Program at UT Southwestern Medical Center, one of the largest and prestigious academic medical institutions. Dr. Lee returns to north Dallas to improve the access for bariatric surgery and to provide additional world-class care for his community. Dr. Lee specializes in minimally invasive revisional bariatric surgery as well as routine advanced laparoscopic bariatric surgery. He has authored numerous textbook chapters, peer reviewed journal articles, award winning videos and other publications deeply rooted in bariatric patient care and presented at national meetings. He serves active leadership roles as a Bariatric Liason Committee member and Continuing Education Committee member for the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), a Research member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), and an active member of the American College of Surgeons (ACS), American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), and the Texas Medical Association (TMA).
