SUPPORT ShotSpotter.

This technology saves lives.

Just recently, ShotSpotter alerted officers to a shooting scene where a 7-year-old child had been critically wounded. Because of that rapid notification, officers were able to quickly locate the child and get him the emergency medical attention he desperately needed.

Today, HE IS ALIVE‼️

Every second matters when someone has been shot. ShotSpotter isn’t about replacing people, t’s about giving first responders the information they need to respond faster when lives are on the line.

If technology can help save even one child’s life, it’s worth supporting.

🚨 DETROIT, WE NEED YOUR IMMEDIATE HELP! 🚨

At approximately 9:30 PM this evening, a 7-year-old child was shot multiple times in the 14000 block of Burgess.

The child has been identified only as “JACQUEES”. At this time, we do not know his last name or have information regarding his parents, guardians, or other family members.

He is currently in critical condition, and the circumstances surrounding this heartbreaking incident remain under investigation.

If you witnessed anything, have surveillance footage, or have any information that could help investigators, please do the right thing and speak up.

Detroit Fireworks Curfew Notice – 8:00 PM Tonight

Dear Parent/Guardian,

As Detroit prepares to celebrate tonight’s fireworks festivities, CeaseFire Detroit would like to provide a friendly reminder that the youth curfew has been temporarily moved up to 8:00 PM this evening.

Detroit City Code Section 29-3-11 prohibits minors from being present on public streets, sidewalks, parks, or other public places during designated curfew hours without a lawful exemption. The earlier curfew is intended to help ensure the safety of young people, families, and visitors attending events throughout the city.

At CeaseFire Detroit, our goal is not only to promote compliance with local ordinances but also to support the safety and well-being of Detroit’s youth. We encourage parents and guardians to have conversations with their children about personal safety, responsible decision-making, and the importance of following curfew guidelines.

If your family is in need of additional support, CeaseFire Detroit offers access to community resources, youth engagement opportunities, mentorship programs, violence prevention services, family support referrals, and other assistance designed to help strengthen families and create safer neighborhoods.

There’s something powerful about seeing a community come together, not because there’s a problem, but because we’re committed to building something better.

Residents, community leaders, law enforcement, and stakeholders gathered for Walk A Mile Wednesday in the Dexter-Linwood community. As we walked together, we were able to witness the positive changes taking place throughout the neighborhood. From the beautification efforts that are helping restore pride to our blocks to the newly remodeled recreation center that will provide a safe and welcoming space for our youth and families for years to come.

These investments matter.

They send a message that our neighborhoods are worth investing in, our children are worth protecting, and our communities deserve spaces where families can gather, play, learn, and thrive.

One of the highlights of the day was giving residents the opportunity to meet and engage directly with the Chief of Police and members of the Detroit Police Department. Meaningful conversations were had, concerns were shared, and relationships were strengthened. That’s how trust is built—not from a distance, but through face-to-face interactions and genuine engagement.

At Ceasefire Detroit, we understand that violence prevention is about more than responding to incidents. It’s about creating opportunities for connection, investing in our neighborhoods, and bringing people together around a shared vision of safety, hope, and community.

Thank you to everyone who came out and participated. Together, we’re not just walking a mile, we’re taking steps toward a stronger, safer, and more united Detroit.
