Keeping theme from yesterdays post....
ARE KIPPING PULLUPS CHEATING
A highly debated topic amongst the fitness world, so here is my take on it.
I'll be honest: I used to think kipping pull-ups were cheating.
I mean, it kind of makes sense, right? You're using momentum to help propel yourself up and over the bar. If somebody asked me years ago whether a kipping pull-up should count the same as a strict pull-up, I would have said absolutely not. They don't count in a military fitness test, so in my mind, they shouldn't count anywhere else either.
But after several years of working in, and now owning, a cross-training-style gym, my opinion has changed quite a bit.
I don't really look at kipping pull-ups as cheating anymore. I look at them as a tool.
And like any other tool, whether you should use it depends entirely on what you're trying to accomplish.
