What does EMDR Basic Training actually involve?

This 5-day, in-person training gives clinicians an opportunity to learn the foundations of EMDR through a combination of online learning, live instruction, demonstrations, experiential practice, and consultation.

Participants will explore:

ā€¢ The Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) Model
ā€¢ The 8 phases of EMDR therapy
ā€¢ Case conceptualization and treatment planning
ā€¢ Core clinical interventions
ā€¢ Practical skills for beginning to integrate EMDR into clinical practice

The training also includes 10 required consultation hours and up to 40 hours of NBCC continuing education credits.

Meet Arlo, an MSW student completing their second year of internship with us. Under the supervision of a fully licensed clinician, Arlo provides therapy for trans and q***r folks navigating major life transitions, anxiety, depression, and other concerns.

Arlo is also interested in working with people who are deconstructing from high-control religious groups. Their approach is relational and informed by self-psychology and Internal Family Systems.

Arlo is currently accepting new clients through Radical Healingā€™s sliding scale program, with rates from $45-100. You can select the rate that works for you.

In addition to Arlo, we have 8 other talented residents equipped to provide culturally responsive and supportive care, with rates ranging from $20-100. Weā€™re here to help you connect with a clinician whoā€™s a great fit for your needs.

Coming out can look different for everyone.

Thereā€™s no perfect time or single way to do it. What matters is having the space to be yourself, at your own pace, and in a way that feels safe.

And if someone trusts you enough to come out to you, you donā€™t need all the answers. Sometimes, listening and saying ā€œIā€™m here for youā€ is a good place to start.

Hayley Cunningham, MD, and Sarah Schmidt, LCSW, are collaborating with researchers at Duke on a study to improve the cervical cancer screening experience for transmasculine and nonbinary individuals.

The study focuses on the Callascope, a device designed to allow individuals to perform a self-exam as an alternative to a traditional pelvic exam or Pap smear for cervical cancer screening.

Weā€™re looking for focus group participants! Your input can help researchers better understand how to make cervical cancer screening more comfortable and accessible.

People are living long, healthy lives with HIV.
But stigma kills.
Let's talk about the facts.
There is a lot of misinformation and fear surrounding HIV, which keeps people from getting tested and treated. Knowing the facts can be empowering and life saving.
HIV is a chronic illness that can be effectively treated with one pill a day or an injection every 2 months. In fact, HIV can be easier to manage than some common chronic conditions, like arthritis or diabetes.
In this video, Dr. Hayley Cunningham and Sarah Schmidt from Radical Healing's HIV care team talk about HIV transmission, treatment, U=U (Undetectable = Untransmittable), and resources that can help make care more accessible.
