Waterski season is here! 🌊☀️

Our water ski crew hit the lake Tuesday evening for a few shakedown runs before the first session of the season. It was a great opportunity to get the boats, skis, and equipment dialed in before helping participants experience the thrill of adaptive waterskiing. We can't wait for the season ahead!

What a way to wrap up the school year! 🌞🎨🌿

Our TREK School-Based Recreational Therapy groups spent the final weeks of the school year exploring community spaces, discovering new outdoor adventures, and trying all kinds of fun, engaging activities.

Now that another fantastic school year has come to a close, our incredible TREK clinical team gets a minute moment to regroup, catch their breath, and prepare for the next adventure. Because before long... TREK Extended School Year (ESY) summer programming will be here, and we can't wait to make even more memories with our participants! ☀️💙

The fish may have won this round, but a morning on the water is always time well spent.

Northeast Passage Veteran Recreation participants hit Portsmouth’s Back Bay bright and early this morning for some saltwater fly fishing. Despite beautiful weather and plenty of effort, the fish remained elusive.

Thanks to our full spectrum of all-terrain mobility equipment, veterans of all abilities can access the spots where the fishing is best and enjoy time outdoors with their peers.

No fish to report today, but plenty of fresh air, good company, and great memories. 🎣🇺🇸

A huge thank you to The Central Birch Art Studio for welcoming one of our Northeast Passage TREK high school school-based recreational therapy groups and giving us the freedom to go wild with paint, movement, and self-expression. Opportunities like these help our students build confidence, develop social connections, and discover new ways to engage with their communities.

The countdown is on! 🎉

Our TREK School-Based Recreational Therapy students are making the most of these final days of the school year. While summer break is just around the corner, there's still plenty of fun, adventure, and recreation left on the schedule before the last bell rings!

From trying new activities to building confidence, friendships, and lifelong recreation skills, it's been an incredible year. We can't wait to finish strong and celebrate all that our students have accomplished.

Summer, we're ready for you! ☀️😎

On Tuesday, Northeast Passage was honored to join our friends at the Seacoast Science Center
for a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the arrival of their new Extreme Motus all-terrain wheelchair.

After renting Northeast Passage's Extreme Motus several times last summer to expand access for visitors, the Seacoast Science Center recognized the value this equipment could bring to their community. NEP was pleased to help advise their team on the process of acquiring their own chair, which ultimately led to a successful grant award from the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation.

This exciting addition will help more individuals explore the trails and natural beauty surrounding the Science Center, creating new opportunities for outdoor recreation and discovery.

Congratulations to the Seacoast Science Center on this important achievement. We are proud to have partnered with them on this journey and look forward to seeing the impact this new resource will have for years to come.

It was an exciting morning at NEP headquarters as staff came together to help an injured juvenile raven that had been seeking shelter under one of our trailers.

Fortunately, help was close at hand. NH Fish and Game Conservation Officer Eva Golden—who also happens to be a UNH alumna—responded to the scene, quickly and gently securing the young bird for transport to a wildlife rehabilitation center.

We're grateful to Officer Golden for her expertise and compassion, and we're rooting for a speedy recovery for our feathered friend! 🐦🐦‍⬛

It's been a busy 24 hours for the Northeast Passage Veteran Recreation Program!

Last night, veterans gathered at Tower Hill Pond in Auburn, NH for an evening of fly fishing. Today, the Vet Rec Team headed north for adaptive cycling at Pineland Farms in New Gloucester, ME in partnership with VAST, and this afternoon they'll be on the range in North Berwick for an air rifle event.

Summer programming is in ramping up, and when the calendar is packed with opportunities across the region, planning and logistics are everything. Pulling off multiple events across two states in less than a day takes a lot of coordination, equipment, and teamwork—but our Veteran Recreation crew is the best at what they do.

What makes this even more impressive is that this is just one of Northeast Passage's many program areas in action. Across the organization, staff are simultaneously delivering adaptive sports, recreation therapy, school-based programming, and community recreation opportunities to participants of all ages and abilities. 🔥🙌

Recently, a group of Northeast Passage veteran participants traveled to Maine's legendary Rapid River for an unforgettable Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing adventure. Based out of the beautiful Lakewood Camps on Lower Richardson Lake, participants enjoyed spectacular views, classic Maine cabin charm, and world-class fly fishing in one of New England’s most iconic outdoor settings.

As a proud chapter of Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Northeast Passage is grateful for the support that makes these experiences possible—connecting veterans with the healing power of fly fishing, the outdoors, and the camaraderie of fellow veterans. Thank you to Project Healing Waters and Lakewood Camps for helping create memories that will last a lifetime.
