30 days of intentional nutrition + cutting out alcohol—and here’s what happened. Swipe āž”ļø to SEE the change.

Before I even rechecked my body composition on Day 30, I already knew something had shifted. I felt like I had found my way back to the version of me I knew before perimenopause hit.

My energy was back. I felt šŸ’Æ% better than when I started. And honestly, those are the gains I’m looking for.

Metabolism & hormones go together, so when I felt I had exhausted efforts on the hormone front, I decided to give more attention to my metabolic health.

Because everyone loves the stats: 21 lbs down. Almost 12 total inches. 🤯

BUT what’s most exciting to me? Watching my body fat % and visceral fat ā¬‡ļø while my skeletal muscle ā¬†ļø.

This isn’t about being smaller. It’s about being stronger, healthier, and having more energy.

I’m sharing this journey vulnerably because the DMs I received when I first shared my perimenopause struggles reminded me just how many of us are navigating this together.

So let’s build a community around collective wellness—supporting each other in becoming stronger, healthier, and more capable. šŸ«¶šŸ¼

Mind over matter. It’s a phrase I heard one friend say to another before they stepped in the cold plunge.

This weekend, I watched 30+ women do something they weren’t sure they could do.

The first few seconds? A gasp. Tense shoulders. Every instinct telling them to get out.

But then they remembered to breathe.

One slow inhale.
One long exhale.

You could actually watch their nervous systems shift.

It reminded me that resilience isn’t about avoiding discomfort—it’s about learning how to move through it.

We spend so much time trying to eliminate stress, but maybe the greater skill is teaching our bodies that we are safe even when life feels uncomfortable.

That’s what nervous system regulation is.

That’s what ā€œmind over matterā€ really means.

Whether it’s a cold plunge, a difficult conversation, anxiety before a big decision, or simply a hard day… your breath is always available to you.

✨ Inhale through your nose.
✨ Exhale longer through pursed lips.

One intentional breath can change your entire response.

The calm you practice here is the calm you bring home.

The takeaways of going down the šŸ‡ hole researching the connection between hormones, metabolism, and perimenopause— I promised I’d come back with the ā€œwhat can we actually do about it?ā€

Here’s the encouraging part…

While we can’t stop hormones from changing, we can support our bodies in ways that improve both hormone balance and metabolic health.

Small, consistent habits matter:
šŸ¤ Prioritize protein at every meal.
šŸ’Ŗ Lift weights a few times each week.
šŸš¶ā€ā™€ļø Walk daily and keep moving.
😓 Protect your sleep.
šŸ™ Manage stress through prayer, time in nature, deep breathing, or mindfulness.
🄦 Fill your plate with fiber-rich whole foods.
šŸ“ Cut back on added sugars and ultra-processed foods.

These aren’t quick fixes—they’re foundational habits that help support energy, muscle, blood sugar, metabolism, and resilience through every stage of life, including perimenopause and beyond.

None of these require perfection. They simply require consistency. Every nourishing meal, every walk, every strength workout, every good night’s sleep is a ripple in the right direction.

What habit are you leaning into? šŸ‘šŸ¼
