The nervous system isn’t just “the mind stuff.” It’s central command. Every other system in your body (hormonal, immune, muscular, digestive) is taking cues from here. That’s why I say nervous system health is the pinnacle of healing.
Here’s where people get lost though. The second they hear “nervous system,” they jump straight to mindset and stress. But before it’s psychological, it’s biological.
Your nerve cells are made of fat, literally, and the myelin that lets signals travel fast is built from lipids. Neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin aren’t just concepts you feel, they’re built from amino acids in protein. And minerals like magnesium and potassium run the electrical gradients that let a nerve fire at all, so dehydration and poor electrolytes degrade signal transmission at the cellular level.
There’s a detox & drainage side too that almost nobody talks about. Your brain and spinal cord sit in cerebrospinal fluid, constantly cycling waste out of nervous tissue the same way your lymphatic system clears waste everywhere else. Sluggish flow, from poor movement, dehydration, or chronic stress, means waste builds up around the tissue running the whole show.
Yes, the nervous system is home to your mind. But it’s also flesh. Cells with the same basic needs as every other cell in your body: fed, hydrated, mineralized, drained. You can’t think or mindset your way around a nervous system that’s biologically depleted.
Fix the biology, the rest follows 🧠
