In studio yoga classes we are typically loading the wrists for a large majority of the practice, but your teacher may not have the time to help you properly warm up your wrists. If you’re anything like me, this might mean discomfort, pain, weakness, or even injury. So, I started prioritizing strengthening my wrists and magically all those things started to become non-issues. Give this quick routine a try each time you show up to class—take a few minutes to gently roll and rock, then do at least 2 sets of 10 of each exercise: grip the mat like you’re squeezing a ball and release, finger pushups, and fin pushups.

ONE YEAR OF THE ALCHEMY STUDIO 🖤✨

A year ago today, I opened the studio doors for the first time and from that moment on it’s been nothing short of an incredible ride… the way this community has shown up, grown and flourished is something that I hold sacred in my heart—I don’t have clients and students, I only have best friends. I care about each and every one of you so deeply and I KNOW that you care about me. Not just as a business owner, but as a piece of you. I know that if I show up as myself, even on a bad day, you guys will love me anyway… and that… that’s something my heart has longed for, for a very long time. This is my family.

Thank you for one whole year!!! I LOVE YOU!

WHAT: We have all been in class and heard “if ___(insert novel pose)___ is in your practice, you can take it here”. But what if you’re not even sure how to get your body into that position???

This is your chance to explore various arm balances, inversions, transitions, and deeper variations of more familiar poses, with trusted teachers there to facilitate what YOU want to know.

When: May 16th 11:30-1:00

MEET OUR NEWEST TEACHER🪐💫

We're so excited to welcome Kelly White to The Alchemy Studio's teacher family! She teaches Monday morning 9:30a Power Burn, and you're going to absolutely love this mix between gentle and power. Kelly's steady, calming energy helps you to feel both grounded and empowered at the same time while allowing you to fall deeply into your own practice on the mat.

My name is Kelly White, 36, born and raised in Erie county. I live here in Edinboro with my husband and three daughters and have spent over 16 years serving in the PA Army National Guard.

My yoga journey began really in college, as I had an interest in pursuing dance/movement therapy. However, my path took quite a few detours, scenic routes, and pauses at overlooks to bring me to where I am today. All of my experiences and education has developed me into a well-rounded yoga teacher with special emphasis on nutrition integration, psychoeducation, chakra balancing, embodiment, interoception, and specialized training on body image/self esteem improvement and eating disorder recovery.

I hold undergraduate degrees in business management and developmental psychology as well as a Master's degree in nutrition science. I am RYT-200, as well as Eat Breathe Thrive Practitioner.

Throughout my adventures, my guiding principle has always been balance; through the tough times and easy, the tears and smiles, joys and heartaches, challenges and success. I truly hope my classes can help bring balance to your own lives.

Please note, I prefer to play gentle music and will occasionally burn incense before and during class. Just let me know if anything bothers you, I am more than happy to make adjustments!
