Puerto Rico gave us warmth, beauty, ocean air, and room to step outside the pace of everyday life.

But more than that, this retreat offered a carefully held container for meaningful inner work.

This is why I create spaces like this.

Because healing often needs more than information. It needs relationship. It needs rhythm. It needs safety. It needs enough spaciousness for the body to finally exhale.

So many of us were taught things about emotions, therapy, trauma, or nervous system regulation that sounded true at the time.

Things like:

“Calm means healed.”

“If I understand it, I should be over it.”

“Deep breathing should always work.”

“If I’m triggered, I’m overreacting.”

But healing is rarely that simple.

Your nervous system is not something you need to discipline into calmness. It is a living, adaptive part of you that has been shaped by your experiences, your relationships, your stress, your grief, and everything you have had to survive.

Sometimes what looks like “overreacting” is actually protection.

Sometimes what looks like “resistance” is actually fear.

Sometimes what looks like “being too sensitive” is actually a body that has had to stay on alert for a very long time.

Healing is not about getting it perfect.

It is about building more safety, more choice, more compassion, and more capacity to come back to yourself.

This was more than a trip.

Yes, Puerto Rico was beautiful. The ocean, the warmth, the sun, and the softness of being somewhere different.

But what happened here was deeper than a change of scenery.

This retreat was created as a carefully held healing experience. A space for nervous system support, reflection, connection, deeper inner work, and integration.

A space to step away from the noise of everyday life and be supported in a different kind of way.

Because sometimes healing needs more than insight. Sometimes it needs space. Sometimes it needs beauty. Sometimes it needs safety. Sometimes it needs a container strong enough to hold what is ready to move.

Puerto Rico held us beautifully.

And I am so grateful for everyone who trusted this process, this place, and this work.

Dreams are weird.

When we're in a dream, it can feel real. Yet, when we wake up, what happened in our dreams tends not to make sense. Random things happen in illogical ways, the dog transforms into a donkey, and the donkey teaches the class as though everything is normal. While we're in the dream, it may be normal.

But when we wake up, we realize how odd that dream really was, and we're left wondering, "What does this dream mean?"

Burnout may feel like exhaustion, dread, numbness, or disconnection.

Nervous system overload may feel like being wired, tense, braced, or unable to settle.

And sometimes, beneath all of it, the body is simply asking for deeper rest, more support, and a slower pace.
