Since joining us in September 2024, Richelle has been an amazing addition to the clinic. She brings professionalism, strong work ethic, calmness, care, and consistency into everything she does. Whether she is supporting treatment, helping with the patient experience, or contributing to the team culture, her presence makes a real difference every day.

Strengthening the knee may not be enough.
The right treatment depends on the source.

A stronger knee is useful.

We had an incredible time leading a Balance & Fall Prevention Workshop with the Evanston Public Library last week with over 35 community members in attendance. 💙

During the workshop, we discussed:
✔️ The major systems involved in balance
✔️ Fall prevention strategies
✔️ Strength and mobility for safer movement
✔️ Ways to stay active and independent with aging

One of the biggest messages we shared:

Falls are not simply a normal part of aging.
Balance, strength, mobility, and confidence with movement can often be improved with the right guidance and training.

Thank you to everyone who attended, participated, and shared your stories with us. It is always an honor to serve and educate our community here in Evanston.

Had an amazing time at the Aging Well Expo 2026 last week connecting with the community and talking about what it really means to stay active, independent, and moving with confidence as we age. 💙

One of the biggest things we shared:
Pain, stiffness, balance issues, dizziness, and weakness should not automatically be accepted as “just getting older.”

At Skillz Physical Therapy, we focus on helping people move better, recover smarter, and stay independent longer through personalized physical therapy and movement-based care.

Knee pain during pickleball is not always a knee problem.

Knee Pain During Pickleball often gets treated as if the knee itself is the whole problem.

But pickleball is not just a knee activity.

It requires quick stops, side steps, pivots, lunges, and repeated changes of direction.
The knee has to work with the hip, ankle, balance system, and trunk.

The pain may show up at the knee.
The source may be somewhere else.

Back pain during activity is often blamed on a weak core.

That may be true. But it is not a diagnosis.

Core weakness is one possible finding. It does not explain, by itself, why pain shows up during a longer walk, a run, a workout, yard work, golf, Pilates, yoga, or more time on your feet.
