Trained this guy out of my garage during COVID.

His name is Blake. We worked together for about 90 days before he moved away to chase his career. He moved to LA, then Vegas, then Nashville.

I hadn't talked to him in years.

Last week he hit me up out of nowhere. Sent me this pic.

"I got better results working with you than I did working with any Hollywood trainer."

That's a quote.

Here's what I'm going to say about that.

I'm not gonna tell you I'm better than every coach in LA. I don't know every coach in LA. What I will tell you is what I told Blake when we worked together... real coaching doesn't need a fancy gym or a Hollywood address. It needs a plan, a structure, and someone in your corner who knows what they're doing.

We had a garage. We had a Trainerize app. We had Zoom check-ins. We had the framework I've been refining since 2007.

That was enough.

The picture on the right is from 2022. Blake sent it as proof. He used the program 5 days a week. He showed up.

I share this because there's a story out there that real coaching requires a celebrity trainer, a flagship gym, a $300 consult. That's marketing. Real coaching is the unsexy part... checking in, adjusting, telling you the truth, making the plan fit your life.

If you're in a garage. If you're in a hotel room. If you're in a Nashville apartment.

The framework moves with you.

I won't sell you a fat burner.

Most of them are caffeine, a few herbs nobody can pronounce, and a price tag that pays for the bottle. They work for about 2 weeks. Then you're just tired and broke.

Here's what I do instead.

There are 6 supplements I use with clients trying to lose fat without GLP-1s. None of them are stimulants. None of them promise to "melt fat." They just give your body what it actually needs while you do the real work... protein, sleep, movement, deficit.

The stack covers what wrecks sleep, what protects muscle while you cut, the vitamin gap that's basically guaranteed in the Pacific Northwest, a clean caffeine source so you don't crash on hard training days, the protein I actually trust, and one that takes the edge off cravings without touching your hormones.

5 are foundational. 1 is the lever you pull when training gets hard.

Specific brands. 30 seconds a day. Not magic. Just the boring stuff that compounds.

Like the post and DM "weight loss" and I'll send you the exact stack. The same one I give my clients.

Jumped out of a plane over Playa Del Carmen in my forties. 4th jump of my life. Landed right on the beach. That was one of the most exciting 60 seconds of freefall over an ocean I'll probably ever feel.

Also the least important...

Here's what I mean...

The big swings get the photos... the trip, the marathon, the brave decision. They make the story we tell at dinner.

But the boring stuff is what builds the life. The morning you got up when you didn't want to. The sleep you protected. The choice you made when nobody was watching.

The big moments tell us we're alive. The small ones decide who we actually are.

I see clients chase the big swings and skip the small stuff. Then they wonder why nothing changes. The body doesn't notice the trip you took. It notices what you did the 6 months before it.

The boring stuff is the work. Always was.

Show up Tuesday. Eat the dinner. Take the walk... repeat...

The plane was fun. The work was on the boring days.

When was the last trip where you looked at the pictures and saw the proof of the boring work you'd been doing for months? How long ago was it?

I was 18 when I worked with a woman who was 427 pounds.

She wasn't my first client. But she's the one who showed me what coaching actually does.

She was a charity case my manager set up... she couldn't afford the gym, and doctors had been telling her for years that she needed to lose the weight or die. But it was her grandkids that became her reason.

She showed up twice a week. We started with walking laps in the parking lot. She couldn't do a full lap without stopping. We progressed her program and caused adaptation.

14 months later... 299 pounds. First time under 300 since high school.

Then her family started writing letters to the gym. Thanking me. Talking about getting their wife back, their mom back, their grandma back. That's when I learned what coaching actually is. It's not just the person in front of you. It's everyone who loves them, who's been worried sick, who's been waiting for this version of them to come back.

The work is for one person. The impact reaches everyone they touch.

27 years later, the playbook hasn't changed.

The clients who get results aren't the strongest or the youngest or the most disciplined when they start. They're the ones who decide and then keep showing up. Whether you're 427 or 247 or 147, the math is the same. Decision + structure + time.

Most people skip the decision part. They want the structure to do the work the decision should be doing.

You can't outwork the decision.

If you've decided and you're ready for what's next... DM me "decided." We'll talk. No pressure either way.

You don't need 60 minutes. You need 25.

Here's the math nobody does.

The average busy adult sets a goal to train 60 minutes 5 times a week. That's 5 hours. Then life happens. Sick kid. Late meeting. Bad sleep. The 60 minutes turns into "no time" and they skip.

25 minutes 5 times a week is the same logical hour budget. But it's actually doable. You can find 25 minutes between a meeting and dinner. You can't always find 60.

5 days x 25 min = 2 hours and 5 minutes a week of focused, hard, intentional work.

That's a body comp shift. That's strength. That's better sleep. That's the version of you that doesn't keep saying "next month."

I've coached clients to drop 30 lbs in 25 minute sessions. I've programmed Marine vets in 30 minute sessions. The body doesn't know the difference. It knows intensity, consistency, and progressive overload.

The hour was never the requirement. The hour was the story you told yourself.

Tag the busy adult you know who keeps saying they don't have time.

Most clients hire me thinking they need the right gym. They actually need the right structure.

I can program a workout in a hotel room with nothing. I can program a workout in a garage with one kettlebell. Equipment was always the excuse.

The actual work isn't the gear. It's the structure. Showing up when you don't want to. Doing the work even when your knees hurt. The honest log of what got done.

The framework moves with you. Tennessee, Mexico, wherever you land. Equipment changes. The discipline doesn't.

Comment one piece of equipment you have... dumbbell, band, kettlebell, chair, nothing at all... and I'll DM you 3 exercises you can do with it.

The clients who get results aren't the ones who hit 100%.

They're the ones who hit 80% consistently.

Here's why.

100% leaves no room for life. Sick kid. Long Tuesday at work. Three meetings before lunch. Travel. Sleep that didn't happen. The minute you miss one rep of your "perfect" plan, the all-or-nothing brain kicks in and you bail on the rest.

80% builds it in.

Hit 4 out of 5 workouts? That's 80%.

Stick to your nutrition 5 days out of 7? Still moving forward.

Sleep 7 hours 4 nights out of 7? Still moving forward.

Most people quit because their bar was set so high they can't sustain it. Then they think they failed.

You didn't fail. The bar failed you.

Lower the bar. Build the consistency. Watch what happens at month 3.

The clients I have who've stayed past the 1-year mark all hit 80% most weeks. Not 100%. Not perfect. Just consistent.

That's the actual game.

Save this for the week life punches you in the mouth.

If you're on a GLP-1 right now... Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, Zepbound... the weight is coming off. Good.

This isn't anti-GLP-1. The drug works.

But here's what nobody tells you.

A big chunk of what you're losing isn't fat. It's muscle.

Muscle is what keeps your metabolism running, your joints supported, your strength intact, and your body comp where you want it to land when you come off the drug.

The standard "just eat protein" advice isn't enough. The drug suppresses appetite so hard that even hitting protein is a fight.

I built a supplement stack specifically for clients on GLP-1s. It covers what you're not absorbing and gives your body the raw materials to hold muscle while the scale moves.

5 supplements. Specific brands I trust. 30 seconds a day.

Come off the drug stronger than when you started... not weaker.

Like the post and shoot me a DM with "GLP" and I'll send you the exact stack. The same one I give my clients.

June 6, 1944.

82 years ago today, thousands of men in their late teens and early twenties stepped off landing craft into chest-deep water on a beach in France... while German machine guns cut down the men on their left and right.

Some scaled 100-foot cliffs under live fire to take out the bunkers above.

Most had never been in combat before that morning.

I think about that... a lot actually. On Monday mornings when getting out of bed feels hard. When I'm sitting at a coffee shop with a hot drink and a laptop and not enough time to get everything done. When I get to take some time off and go wet a line.

Those guys didn't have time either. They had a job and a beach in front of them... And they did it.

Today we have the lives we have because they had the day they had.

To the men of June 6, 1944... thank you doesn't cover it. But it's what I've got.

What I actually do on a Friday morning.

Coffee. Open Trainerize. Pull up everyone's week.

For each client I check three things.

Did they finish their workouts? If not, why? Sick, travel, life, or just slipped.

How's their weight trending? Up, down, flat? Is it matching their nutrition?

Did anything come up in messages I need to follow up on?

Then I write back to each one. Not a templated check-in. A real "here's what I see and here's what we're adjusting" reply.

Some clients I've coached for a decade. Some are 3 weeks in. Same Friday morning ritual either way.

This is the unsexy part of online coaching. It's also the part that works.

Comment "me" below and I'll check your health routine and let you l know how to improve it to have a happier, healthier life..
