"...I'd had lunch and was walking over to the sink to rinse off my plate when Bill looked up from his phone and said, “Oh no. Dolly’s gone”.
Can I tell you how much in that moment I wanted there to be another Dolly so badly? But of course there isn’t. She is the only one."

Hello Friends! Can you believe that August is winding down?? It always goes by so fast.

I am getting ready to start another series for paid subscribers~consider this your call to sign up for a paid subscription if you haven't already. But if you can't swing it right now, subscribe for free anyway and take a minute to comment you thoughts on what you would like to read more of at Everyday Intuition!

I have a few ideas percolating that I think you will love~but I want to know what you all would love to hear more about!

~Would you like to do another multi-lesson series that includes thought experiments and practice exercises?

~Would you like an audio series of daily meditations designed to help you feel more connected to your intuition?

~Would you like a group activity like an AMA or a live class where you can interact with me and ask questions?

Please feel free to respond here as well or message me with your thoughts. You are a vital part of what makes this Substack what it is and I always want to be aware of what's on your mind!

There is a reason I aim to get as often as possible. And it's not as trivial as you might think.

We absolutely need joy in our lives. Even during times of struggle or suffering, we still need to feel connected to it, to feel saturated with it, full and ripe with love and approval for ourselves. Your intuition’s job is to help you get access to joy, but in a very infinity symbol kind of exchange of energy, it’s also fed by it. You are left with both the responsibility and the ability to intentionally cultivate joy in your life. It’s one of the best ways I know to make that intuitive voice strong. And loud.

Joy is sustenance. It is resistance.

This is a new kind of grief for us. We live a mile away from where Johan Sebastian Duran Guerrero was murdered. To be part of a community response that feels appropriately loud and clear in its demand that immigrants be welcomed, valued, and recognized for the beautiful part of the fabric of our country that they have always been, is an honor.

This has to stop.

I teach a lot about how to nuture a deep and abiding trust in one's own intuition, and how to develop a comfortable relationship with one's gut, enough so listening to it becomes unassailably easy. But what happens if the people in our lives don't believe in "that stuff"? Or think we're weirdos?
This week in the Everyday Intuition Substack we're taking this question head-on. The Intuitive Recharge Week 5: Partnership

Pedro's sling looks so much cooler than mine.

It's a miracle I'm able to type today. Last week while on our way to dinner with friends in the Old Port, I tripped navigating a tree “pit”, which is what they call the space for in-ground tree plantings that don’t have a grate covering them. I fell and broke my arm.

My right arm.

In order to heal I'll be resting it (and the left side of my brain?) for at least six weeks, and my intention is to keep up my regular writing schedule since I can't do much of anything else.

This has been really, really hard. Not what I wanted for a summer that I have been longing for since the leaves dropped.

Thank god for Bill, my family and friends who have been amazing, and for electric toothbrushes.

My dogs have shown me infinite times over the years that they understand what is happening around them, many times before we do. Their capacity for communication through intuitive connection with our animals is so easy to access and teaches us quite a bit about our own.

This week on Substack, the Intuitive Recharge continues with a tale 😉 about how intuitive the fur beasties really are.
