Findings from the Massachusetts JCOIN 1.0 Research Hub show that providing MOUD in jails improves treatment engagement and reduces overdose and reincarceration after release. Researchers from Yale School of Medicine and NYU Grossman School of Medicine validated two rapid diagnostic tools for opioid and stimulant use disorders that can be administered by both clinicians and non-clinicians.

These tools could help expand screening capacity across healthcare and community settings while improving timely access to life-saving treatment.
