Over 50 years ago, P*e Dee AHEC made a commitment to rural South Carolina, and we haven't stopped since.

Since 1971, we've been building the healthcare workforce this region needs through continuing education, internships, and workforce development programs that reach all 12 counties in the P*e Dee.

A lot has changed in 50 years. The shortage of rural healthcare workers hasn't. Neither has our focus on solving it.

🎓 Congratulations to Hannah Surface, PA, our newest AHEC Scholar graduate!

Hannah completed the AHEC Scholars Program and the MUSC Physician Assistant Program. She just accepted a position as a Primary Care PA in Hampstead, NC.

In her own words: "I enjoyed being part of the AHEC Scholars Program. It reinforced the importance of providing care across all walks of life and stages of life... I learned how to provide evidence-based care while leading with compassion and treating every patient as I would a friend. Thank you, AHEC, for the knowledge, experiences, and support throughout my PA school journey!"
