The McLeod Health Foundation recently received a donation from the Together We Give Foundation in the amount of $65,000 to support McLeod Cancer Patients through the HOPE (Helping Oncology Patients Everyday) Fund. The donation represents proceeds from the third annual Rock Out for the Cure event held on February 21, 2026, at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach.

Proceeds from the event benefit oncology patient support services and provide oncology staff at the McLeod Center for Cancer Treatment and Research in Horry County with improved access for immediate assistance needs for McLeod cancer patients. The HOPE Fund helps patients with such needs as transportation, medications, nutrition and unique personal financial challenges.

We are grateful for community partners like Together We Give Foundation whose generosity helps provide hope, healing, and support to cancer patients and their families.

A huge thank you to Stella Stamato, a student at Trinity Collegiate School, for the incredible success of her Toy Drive benefiting McLeod Children’s Hospital!

Through her dedication and hard work, Stella collected more than 2,400 toys and raised $2,300 to support pediatric patients and families. The toys will help brighten the days of children receiving care at the hospital, while the monetary donations will benefit the Child Life Activity Center.

After launching this fundraiser and leading its success for the past two years, her sister Gabi has graduated from high school and is heading off to college. Now, Stella is carrying on the tradition, ensuring Gabi’s legacy of giving continues to make a difference. With the ongoing support of Trinity Collegiate School, the toy drive will continue to bring joy to children and families for years to come.

Stella personally organized every aspect of the drive—from collecting and sorting donations to counting and delivering them. Her commitment to serving others has made a meaningful impact on countless children and families. We are grateful for Stella’s leadership, generosity, and commitment to helping others.

The McLeod for Health Florence Open, Florence’s only professional tennis tournament, made possible by the partnership between McLeod Health and the City of Florence, helps raise awareness of breast cancer and physical activity.

McLeod Health is deeply committed to the early identification and treatment of breast cancer and works with the McLeod Center for Cancer Treatment and Research and the McLeod Health Foundation to provide mammogram scholarships to women in need of assistance for this important annual screening. On May 18, 2026, a check presentation was held at the McLeod Cancer Center to present $3,000 to the Foundation for these scholarships.

McLeod Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Rodney Alan serves as the Tournament Physician. He added that McLeod Health will remain the title sponsor for the 2026 McLeod for Health Florence Open, which will be held at the Dr. Eddie Floyd Florence Tennis Center July 27 to August 2.
