Congratulations to Alyssa Gartner for five years of exceptional service to Rehab Associates! Alyssa is a patient care coordinator in our Clifton clinic where she handles all patient and clinician needs.

According to Dr. Andrew VanHaren, site director at Clifton, “Alyssa is the backbone of our clinic. She is always willing to help, and she consistently shows herself to be highly capable. Recently she has stepped up even more by showing great flexibility and mentoring new staff. She embodies the Rehab Associates Way in her commitment to excellence, skill within her role, and patient-first mentality. We are proud to have her on our team and thank her for all she does.”

Alyssa has seen a lot of changes during her five years, from the growth of Clifton to new policies and procedures, to new staff and more patients, and even to the addition of her daughter who turned one in April. “It’s good to work where people value what you do,” says Alyssa of her time at Rehab Associates. “Everyone here rallies together when needed to take care of patients and each other. We’re a great team! I also enjoy seeing our regulars who come back because they know we’re good!”

Double the birthday fun! Happy birthday to Dr. Zac Melling and Melissa Beem! Zac is a physical therapist in our Hurt clinic. He enjoys seeing patients from all fitness ranges and has a passion for treating orthopedic populations using evidence-based practice, precision prescription for exercise, hands-on techniques, and lifestyle changes. Another Good Reason to Rehab in our Forest Clinic: Marissa Pressley, PT, DPT

Please welcome Dr. Marissa Pressley to the Rehab Associates family! A Lynchburg native, she received her doctorate of physical therapy from University of Lynchburg in 2026. Marissa attended Liberty University for her undergraduate where she earned her bachelor’s degree in exercise science in 2019.

Marissa is passionate about general orthopedic care and utilizing a hands-on approach through manual therapy techniques to support patient treatment and recovery. Additionally, she plans to pursue dry needling certification.

During her academic and clinical development, Marissa had the unique experience of treating the prosthetic and orthotic populations, which she thoroughly enjoyed. She says, "I love being a physical therapist because I get the opportunity to help patients reclaim their lives and participate in the things they love to do!" Dr. Pressley is already making a big impact on her patients!

When she is not at the clinic, Marissa enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing pickleball, being outdoors, and figure skating.
