I’m very happy to announce that my newest novel, Slices: An Awakening, is now published.
Before I say anything about the new book, I want to thank everyone who has read my previous books. I’m genuinely grateful for the support, and especially for the incredibly kind things many of you have taken the time to write in the Amazon review sections. Those words mean a great deal to me.
The kind of science fiction I enjoy writing is probably a little different from what some people expect. I deliberately avoid space battles, evil empires, endless wars, and unexplained magical technology. I prefer stories that are uplifting, encouraging, and curious about people, intelligence, cooperation, science, and philosophy. Even when I push into speculative territory, I try to keep the ideas grounded in real scientific concepts and then ask, “What if?”
Slices: An Awakening begins across several radically different worlds, where ordinary lives start developing the same unsettling inconsistencies. Memories are missing. Familiar objects behave in impossible ways. Brief distortions reveal ruined versions of places that moments before seemed completely intact. At first, each event can be dismissed as coincidence, error, or faulty perception, but the pattern keeps returning.
At its heart, Slices is a story about identity, consciousness, perception, alternate realities, and the question of what it means to remain yourself while becoming connected to something far larger.
I think this may be the best book I’ve written so far, and I’m very excited to finally let other people read it.
