When your office shelf decides it’s done being an office shelf… you call in reinforcements. 😂

Thankfully, I had a pretty cute little helper willing to patch holes and help me get everything put back together. 🤍

I haven’t shared much around here lately, but life — and work — have been full. This little office has seen a lot of beautiful moments, and apparently now a little home improvement too. 😂

Tell me I’m not the only one whose “quick fix” projects somehow turn into an entire afternoon.

Look who I got to see today! ❤️

My first student, Amy, came by the office today with her sweet (not-so-little 😉) baby boy for chiropractic adjustments and their postpartum visit with me.

So many of my current clients have been asking how Amy is doing since she worked with many of you during her apprenticeship, and I’m so happy to say that both she and baby are doing wonderfully. Amy took such beautiful care of herself throughout her pregnancy, and it was such a privilege to attend the birth of her newest little one.

Her birth was especially meaningful to me because Amy was my very first student, making her the first of my students I’ve had the honor of caring for through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I attended her birth alongside the midwife who trained me (and who was also one of Amy’s preceptors), while my friend Tara—who many of you know as one of my assistants—served as her doula.

It was also so sweet to see big brother settling into his new role. He was incredibly gentle with his baby brother and clearly already adores him. ❤️

My daughter was at work with me today too and was so excited to get to see the baby.

Moments like these are one of my favorite parts of this work. Watching students grow into incredible birth workers and then having the privilege of caring for them during their own pregnancies, births, and postpartum journeys is such a full-circle blessing. My heart is so full. Congratulations, Amy! 💙

P.S. Amy, I was going to use a Hilary Duff song for this post, but Facebook let me down. 😂

One of my favorite parts of midwifery is getting to watch families grow.

This sweet family came in for their six-week postpartum visit on my first day back in clinic after vacation, and seeing them all together absolutely made my day.

It feels like just yesterday we were welcoming their beautiful Mother’s Day baby, and now here they are settling into life as a family of four.

This birth was especially memorable—a beautiful, swift labor, an incredible doula, and a mama who trusted her instincts every step of the way. Their faith filled the birth space, and I still smile when I think about the worship music that played as they welcomed their baby into the world.

This family has such a gentle, joyful spirit, and it has been an honor to walk alongside them during this season.

A special shout-out to my senior student Amy, who completed her final management with this family. Watching her grow into such a capable, compassionate midwife has been one of the greatest joys of teaching. I couldn’t be more proud of her.

Moments like this are one of the reasons I love what I do. The prenatal visits, the birth, the postpartum visits, watching older siblings become big brothers and sisters, seeing parents grow in confidence—it’s all part of the story.

Thank you to this beautiful family for allowing us to be a small part of yours. ❤️

Yesterday, I got to see this sweet little angel baby. She’s growing so quickly! I was so caught up chatting with her mama that I forgot to take a photo. Thankfully Mom was on her game! It’s been such an honor and joy walking alongside Dr. Kassie through her pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. She’s helped so many of my past and present clients and when she texted me last year telling me it was her turn, I couldn’t have been more excited!

It was a day full of beautiful families! We had two postpartum visits today. I love that there are three beautiful generations in this photo. This first time mama is so strong, and even though she had no experience with babies before having one of her own, she is a true natural. It makes my heart happy to see her step into this God-given role so beautifully. Her own mother has enjoyed seeing her daughter be a mother herself. I love that I get to step back and see this all unfold before my eyes. I’m also really excited to see Amy‘s precious little one growing!

A Valentine’s Day baby and a birth so fast we’re still laughing about it 💗😂

I walked in the door and about 12 minutes later… she was here. No time to settle in, no easing into the rhythm—just straight into catching this perfect little girl earthside ✨

In fact, it all happened so quickly I had to leave my daughter and my dog in the car in the driveway for her dad to come grab them 🤣 Birth work keeps you humble and on your toes.

Even more special, this was a return for both mama and her incredible doula 🥹 There is nothing like being welcomed back into a space of trust like that.

And because this family is just that amazing… they fed our whole team steaks afterward 🥩💛

Welcome, sweet Valentine. You made an unforgettable entrance, surrounded by so much love 💕
