States have the power to protect residents from PFAS contamination, and they should use it.

A recent Associated Press article highlights how states can take action to safeguard public health, even when federal protections fall short.

As the article states:

"Even without federal limits on chemicals like PFAS, states have the authority to protect public health and the environment."

Massachusetts has an opportunity to continue leading on PFAS protections, but we need our elected officials to support strong policies that protect our drinking water and communities.

Julian Cyr, State Representative Chris Flanagan, Rep Kate Hogan- we need your support in advancing meaningful PFAS protections for Massachusetts residents.

State officials knew nearly two decades ago that toxic chemicals called PFAS were spreading from the carpet mills of northwest Georgia into rivers that are the region's main source of drinking water.
