Why do I sound like those AI-generated Hmong music videos all of a sudden? 🤭

If you grew up in the 80s/90s, fully rooted in your language and traditions… but now live somewhere between two worlds, you might get this.

Language is really important to me.

When I work with Hmong clients, I take advantage of the opportunity and try to speak Hmong whenever possible. Some days my Hmong comes out smooth. Other days it feels… stiff. Mixed. Half-English, half-Hmong, and I’m just hoping it all still makes sense. And sometimes, I catch myself feeling a little self-conscious because my Hmong isn’t as fluent as it used to be.

Many of us (who are probably parents now) grew up in between the generations where we spoke Hmong fluently in the home w/ our parents and elders. Somehow, we have shifted to predominantly speaking more English at home now with our kids, partners, and families. Somewhere along the way, English became the dominant language and I can't help but feel deep sadness whenever I think of this.

Our language is a gift: a deep and important thread to our history.
It is the bridge between our ancestors and future generations.

So, I'm still here learning. Practicing. And trying my best to keep what I can.

Peace✨ Presence ✨Purpose ✨

I don’t always know how to explain it, but whenever I drum, I feel supported by something greater than myself.

There’s a deep knowing, some ancient remembering. I begin to feel a sense of ancestral presence, not as something I can fully understand but something felt.

Drumming has always been a powerful grounding practice for me. It helps bring me back into my body.

💚 Healing Traditional Elders 💚

Not gonna sugar coat anything.

It has been very challenging for me to reach the Hmong audience here in the Valley so this one holds a special place in my heart.

My love, passion, and my spiritual journey has always been to heal myself, my family, and then bring energy healing to the Hmong community.

I never had a plan on how I would set out to do any of this. When I had to move here, I took it up as an opportunity to spread the light. I knew in my heart, I was made for more and I never limited myself to growing and connecting outside of the familiar.

It only took this one session for me to remember, I have been sent to the Valley for this purpose. I recalled my voice of reasoning and that’s what allowed me to keep going and trust in the process.

After this session, Yawg (Grampa) was moved to tears and said to me, “I have never done anything like this before.. I am so happy my daughter booked this.. “kuv hnov ​​tias, kuv lub siab sov so, thiab kuv zoo zoo siab heev..” (I feel a shift inside me, all of a sudden, I feel so light, warm, and happy.. 🥹). He proceeded to share with me his thoughts and feelings with deep gratitude for me and my guides.

I am nobody from nowhere. I am simply just a messenger. I trust that when I am called to do my part, I show up, and allow the Universe and my guides to lead the way.

If you have been feeling stuck, called to show up, or been stretched out of your comfort zone, keep going. Just do it. Do it afraid. Do it scared. Do it UNREADY. There will never be a perfect moment to remember your magic.

The Universe will always reveal itself to you in ways that multiply and conspire in your favor.

Keep going. I believe in you.

My response, “To attempt and heal your karmic wounds this lifetime so you don’t come back and repeat them..”

✨ 𝙎𝙩𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙎𝙝𝙤𝙬𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙐𝙥 ✨

Starting over for me was never the plan.

Sometimes, Life asks you to begin again where you least expect it.

For a long time, there were many moments where I was creating and building from what I knew and maybe even in ways that kept me safe. But now, I am being asked to rebuild from the ground up and it's taught me more about resilience, courage, and trust to start again.

This chapter hasn't been easy. So much has changed within a year. I've gone through major life transitions since moving across state, losing two very significant people, navigating my own personal timeline, to living more honestly, recreating with purpose, and now sustaining stability within the midst of it all.

40s be wild yall but I can't deny, it's been one of the BEST chapters of my existance.

So, if you're starting over too? Maybe it's a relationship, pivoting your career, your health, your healing journey, or simply learning who you are after life has changed you. Whatever your 'Still Showing Up' looks like, I hope you remember that you don't have to have it all figured out to take the next step.
