What does a 5NP + sound session actually feel like?

The lights go low and phones go away. Five tiny needles (or ear seeds) are placed at points on each ear. Then nobody has to talk. People sit back and close their eyes while low gong tones and chimes fill the room.

There's no processing, no homework, and no need to tell your story. It's simply a quiet stretch of time for the nervous system to settle.

That's a big part of why I love it for clinicians. We spend our days co-regulating with other people and rarely leave time to regulate ourselves. Pairing the 5-Needle Protocol with sound is a simple, low-cost way to come back to baseline. You can offer it to clients, run it in groups, or use it with your own team during staffing or supervision.

Our next Integrate 5NP cohort in Frisco is Nov 20–22, 2026.

The 5-Needle Protocol (5NP) is a simple ear (auricular) protocol, usually offered as a quiet group session. It helps the body shift out of fight-or-flight. It fits well alongside trauma, addiction, and stress work, and it's one of the most practical self-care tools I know for clinicians.

• 3-day training: Friday virtual, Saturday–Sunday hands-on in Frisco
• 24 CEUs, including 3 ethics + 3 distinct populations (BHEC licensees)
• TMB Approved Training, with a path to Certified AcuDetox Specialist (CAS)
• $1,250, and HSA/FSA cards are accepted
• Small group, with plenty of supervised practice

If November doesn't work, the next dates are Dec 4–6, 2026 and Jan 29–31, 2027.

What is 5NP, really?

The five-point protocol (5NP) is a simple ear protocol. Five small needles, or ear seeds for people who prefer no needles, are placed at the same five points on each ear: Sympathetic, Shen Men, Kidney, Liver, and Lung. It's usually offered as a quiet group session. People sit, rest, and nobody has to talk.

It was first used in addiction treatment. Today it's offered in community wellness, alongside trauma and stress work, and as self-care for helpers.

In Texas, licensed mental health clinicians such as LPCs, LCSWs, LMFTs, and LCDCs can train in 5NP and pursue the TMB Certified AcuDetox Specialist (CAS) credential. That's why I built Integrate 5NP: a 3-day TMB Approved Training with a path to CAS. Our next group starts October 16, and the next cohort after that is November 20–22.

5NP supports regulation. It doesn't replace therapy or medication.

Three day training sneak peek! Our October 16–18 group is almost here, so here's how the three days work. Next cohort: November 20–22.

Friday is virtual. You join from wherever you are.

Saturday and Sunday are in person in Frisco. This is the hands-on part: a small group, plenty of supervised practice, 5NP group sessions paired with sound, and real time for your own nervous system.

Across the training you learn point locations, needling technique, clean needle precautions, and how to bring 5NP and sound together in a group.

After the weekend, you complete supervised clinical experiences (done virtually) and homework. Then your certificate and transcript go to the Texas Medical Board to begin the Certified AcuDetox Specialist (CAS) credentialing process.

We had a great turnout and lots of engagement at the WellnessExpo in Grapevine this weekend!

Met lots of new friends, connected with other wellness practitioners, and reconnected with some of the friends who came back to experience the five needle protocol with sound healing. It continues to fascinate me how much people love the experience of 5NP and sound...pictures to come...

This group of healers made it through our 3 day training for the five needle protocol in Frisco! The group dynamic was empowering and accepting. Our largest cohort to date, we had therapists and providers of different kinds and two US Veterans. 🇺🇸 I am excited to see how they grow and develop using 5NP. Please congratulate this group of women - I’m thinking we should call them the “Power Pack!”
