Another great hands-on training session at National Safety & Health! Participants worked through real-world emergency response scenarios while practicing essential lifesaving skills, including CPR, AED use, choking response, first aid, and emergency assessment.

We believe effective training should go beyond the classroom. Giving participants the opportunity to practice with realistic equipment and scenarios helps build the confidence and skills needed to respond when every second counts.

National Safety & Health recently had the opportunity to provide Confined Space Training for personnel from Reviera Enterprises, Inc. and the Prince George’s County Government Department of Public Works and Transportation – Office of Storm Drain Maintenance.

The training combined classroom instruction with hands-on exercises covering confined space hazards, atmospheric monitoring, ventilation, fall protection equipment, entry procedures, and the responsibilities of personnel involved in confined space operations.

One of the most important parts of safety training is taking the information beyond the classroom. Participants had the opportunity to work directly with the equipment and discuss how these requirements apply to the environments and operations they may encounter in the field.

We appreciate both teams for their participation, engagement, and commitment to workplace safety.

☀️ HEAT STRESS IS PREVENTABLE ☀️

As temperatures rise, so does the risk of heat-related illnesses on the job. Heat exhaustion and heat stroke can happen quickly and become life-threatening if not recognized and treated immediately.

Protect yourself and your team by remembering the basics:

💧 Hydrate frequently
🌳 Take breaks in shaded or cool areas
👷 Dress appropriately for the conditions
🤝 Use the buddy system
🌡️ Watch for signs of heat stress

Know the warning signs:
⚠️ Heavy sweating
⚠️ Dizziness
⚠️ Headache
⚠️ Muscle cramps
⚠️ Nausea
⚠️ Confusion

If you suspect heat stroke, call 911 immediately.
