Today, volunteers from General Mills stepped up to the plate and joined our residents for an afternoon of adaptive T-ball, smiles, laughter and plenty of team spirit. From big hits to high-fives, everyone had a chance to shine and make great memories together.
A huge thank you to our General Mills volunteers for bringing their energy, encouragement, and enthusiasm to the field. We loved having you on our team!

🌊 A Wave of Service swept through our Wasmond Center today, bringing more than 50 student volunteers ready to make a difference.
As part of St. Edward Central Catholic High School 's Wave of Service Day, Marklund was proud to be one of nine local nonprofits included in this community-wide day of service. With shirts featuring the verse, “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another” (1 Peter 4:10-11), these incredible students did just that. They jumped in to help host a Mini Summer Games, teaming up with residents to enjoy adaptive games in the sunshine.

The events of the day even attracted coverage from the Daily Herald, Elgin Courier-News, and ABC 7 Chicago, along with a special visit from Dr. Kim White, Superintendent of Schools for the Diocese of Rockford.

Shout out to our amazing Marklund staff for helping make the day such a success and creating meaningful experiences alongside these outstanding volunteers.

Thank you, St. Edward, for sharing your gifts, prayers and making a difference in the lives of those we serve.

Happy National Dog Day! Our residents, students and staff look forward to every visit from our volunteer pet therapy dogs — and the incredible humans who share their sweet spirit with us. Pet therapy pups bring comfort, connection and a whole lot of tail‑wagging joy to our homes.

Celebrate with us by enjoying some of our favorite furry‑friend moments from the past.

⚾ Inclusion took center field last night as White Sox, the disability community and Marklund came together for a winning triple play!

Marklund headed to the South Side to cheer on Chicago and represent Marklund at the 7th Annual Developmental Disability Awareness Night.

Following an outstanding on-field experience, residents joined friends from our Geneva campus in the stands alongside DD organizations from across Chicagoland. The evening featured Ozzie Guillén bobbleheads, roaring cheers, great tunes, a stadium-wide wave, fireworks, ballpark treats and lots of laughter with new and old friends.

Thank you to Intersect for Ability for hosting, the Chicago White Sox for welcoming us and Park Lawn Charity for making the connection! We are already counting down to next year.
