The actual trauma response with Hashimoto’s weight gain is crazy.
You quite literally don’t believe any “good season” is meant to last.
Even when you’re feeling good & well managed, your thoughts can become consumed with…
When will I flare again?
Will the weight start coming back?
How long do I actually get myself back for, before I lose her all over again?
when you’ve experienced the rapid weight gain, debilitating fatigue, brain fog, inflammation + feeling like a shell of yourself during a Hashimoto’s flare, you don’t just forget what that felt like.
For a hot minute, even when I was doing better, part of me was waiting for the other shoe to drop and EXPECTING to lose it all over again.
One of the most freeing parts of addressing my Hashimoto’s on a deeper level wasn’t losing the weight or getting my symptoms under control.
It was finally understanding my body well enough that I stopped being afraid of it!!!!
I KNOW what keeps me feeling good. I KNOW what my body needs. And if life gets messy and symptoms start creeping back in, I have the tools to respond instead of immediately spiraling.
This is why I don’t just help my 1:1 clients lose the weight or “get their labs looking better” or ditch their symptoms.
I help them create a literal lifestyle revolving around getting the progress then MAINTAINING the progress & know EXACTLY what they need to do long term.
…to understand their bodies SO f*cking deeply that feeling good isn’t temporary.
THAT’S the real root work, baby. 🦋✨
