Data has a way of reflecting the truth we might be trying to ignore. I was recently shocked to see my leptin levels at 18 when the optimal range for metabolic flexibility is 7 to 10.
 
Leptin is the master signal for your metabolism. When levels are too high, your brain misses the message to burn fuel, resulting in persistent cravings and weight loss resistance. My own levels spiked because of a perfect storm. For a few months I was missing the vital UVA window of morning light and navigating a period of intense nervous system stress.
 
Leptin can also be too low causing your brain to think you are starving despite how much stored energy (fat) you have…also causing weight loss resistance.
 
It’s exhausting to do the work and feel like your body is a locked door. This “stuck” feeling is often a sign that your system does not feel safe enough to release.

You look like you have it all together.

You are the one everyone relies on, the one who gets things done. But internally, you feel like you are constantly chasing a finish line that keeps moving. You are walking forward, but you are followed by a shadow of exhaustion that sleep cannot fix.
 
This is not a lack of discipline or a mindset issue. It is a physiological state of high-functioning depletion.

Your nervous system is stuck in a survival loop, and your mineral stores are running on empty because your body has been in fight or flight for so long it forgot how to find safety.
 
You have been told to push through or take a vacation, but you cannot out-hustle a dysregulated system.

True energy does not come from caffeine or a weekend away. It comes from restoring the foundations of your biology so your body feels safe enough to actually rest.
