Before You Say Yes To Any Wellness Treatment, Ask These 5 Questions.
The wellness industry is growing rapidly. From weight management programs and supplements to hormone optimization, IV therapy, injectables, and countless products promoted online, people have more options than ever before.
That's not necessarily a bad thing. Innovation can be exciting. New treatments can create opportunities to support health, wellness, confidence, and quality of life.
The challenge is that information is everywhere, and not all of it is accurate.
Before saying yes to any wellness treatment, we encourage people to ask these five questions:
1. Who is recommending it?
2. What training, education, and credentials do they have?
3. What are the potential risks and benefits?
4. Is there credible research supporting it?
5. Is it appropriate for my specific situation and goals?
Health and wellness information is more accessible than ever before. Today, recommendations often come from social media, podcasts, influencers, gyms, supplement stores, friends, and online communities. While many people have good intentions, good intentions are not the same as medical training. That's why understanding who is providing the guidance can be just as important as the guidance itself.
One of the reasons we feel strongly about this is because we are actively expanding our wellness offerings at Get Tox'd. As we continue to introduce new services and educational resources, we want our clients to understand not only what options are available, but how to evaluate them thoughtfully and safely.
We've seen firsthand how quickly trends can outpace education, and we believe the best decisions are made when people have access to accurate information and qualified medical guidance.
Take GLP-1 medications as an example.
Long before GLP-1 therapy became a household name, Leah was prescribing these medications as part of patient care. In fact, she was working with GLP-1 therapies years before opening Get Tox'd Aesthetics & Wellness.
At the time, most people knew very little about them. Today, nearly everyone has heard of them.
What's interesting is that while many people associate GLP-1 medications solely with weight management, the science continues to evolve. Research published in the New England Journal of Medicine has demonstrated significant cardiovascular benefits in appropriate patient populations, including reductions in major cardiovascular events such as heart attack and stroke. Researchers continue to study additional potential applications of these medications beyond weight management, highlighting the importance of staying informed as the science evolves.
The lesson isn't that every person should pursue a specific treatment.
The lesson is that medical decisions should be guided by evidence, experience, and individualized care—not by trends, social media, or whoever happens to be the loudest voice in the room.
Whether you're considering weight management, hormone optimization, IV therapy, injectables, supplements, or other wellness services, take the time to ask questions.
As licensed medical professionals, we believe informed clients make the best decisions. We also believe you deserve access to transparent information, honest conversations, and providers who are willing to explain not only the potential benefits of a treatment, but also its limitations, risks, and alternatives.
As we continue to grow, our focus remains the same: providing thoughtful care, ongoing education, and services delivered with appropriate medical oversight. We are excited about what the future holds and look forward to sharing more about our expanding wellness offerings in the months ahead.
An informed client is always our favorite kind of client.
If you're considering a wellness or aesthetic treatment and would like guidance from experienced medical professionals, we'd be happy to help you explore your options.
