The Eden Center for Integrative Care is expanding our correctional healthcare team, and we’re looking for **Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs)** who want to work in a unique, team-oriented clinical environment.

Correctional nursing offers an opportunity to use your clinical skills in a setting where nurses play a critical role in providing direct patient care, managing chronic and acute medical needs, and working alongside an integrated medical and behavioral health team.

Two people can carry the same diagnosis and still need very different care.
That is because a diagnosis names a pattern. It does not explain why the pattern is there. Sleep, nutrition, hormones, stress, physical health, relationships, and biology all shape how a person feels and functions, and they look different in every life. When care only asks which medication matches the label, it can miss most of the story.

Five years ago, I had a vision.

I believed mental health should be treated as a whole-body, systemic, multisystem issue, not as a series of isolated symptoms managed one pill at a time. It wasn’t the conventional way of thinking then, but I believed there had to be a better approach. Five years later, with the help of an incredible team, exceptional providers, and the trust of our community, that vision has become a reality. We’ve grown to two practice locations, cared for thousands of patients, and many of the ideas that once seemed unconventional are now becoming the standard for how mental health care should be practiced.

We were ahead of the curve. We continue to be. And we will continue pushing boundaries, challenging the status quo, and searching for better ways to help people heal.

To everyone who has been part of this journey, our patients, staff, providers, colleagues, friends, and community, thank you from the bottom of my heart for believing in the mission.

Five years is just the beginning. We won’t stop now.

A special thanks to Jeff Ives and Shannon James for believing in the idea, helping to bring it to fruition, and especially for keeping me entertained with your lively debates while we figured everything out one hiccup at a time.

We’re excited to welcome Elisia Barber, MSN, APRN, FNP-C to The Eden Center team!

Elisia is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a compassionate, whole-person approach to care. She is passionate about helping individuals struggling with substance use disorders, chronic health concerns, and recovery by providing personalized, evidence-based support in a safe and judgment-free environment.

Elisia will offer Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) services in our Glens Falls office, helping patients navigate recovery with dignity, support, and individualized care that looks beyond symptoms alone.
